🙄2 stars review of this place and I am very generous here :-( (After reading my review I changed it to one star...for the initial welcoming smile only) When most people who decide go to a restaurant for lunch or dinner and are willing to spend the amount of money you have to pay for a dinner in these establishments these days, most of these people will expect a good quality food, excellent plate presentation, nice atmosphere and a good service with a smile...and probably a bit more....
😕Unfortunately, this ' Schofields Bistro' did not show much of that during our recent visit.
Anything in this diner/ bistro is like a 'one step forward and two steps back'
🙄A smile upon your your arrival, but then you are forgotten as new customers arrive....please, can we have our order now ?!?!
🙄 Anybody who appreciate a great 'tartar' sauce with your English style 'fish&chips'...well forget this place.... a good quality tartar sauce... with fresh lemon juice...flavored with chopped dill, pickles, even with a bit of dijon mustard, FORGET THAT here, what you are served with in this place is a McDonald sauce standard, even served the same way you would get it from Wendy's (in little plastic cup, obviously purchased in bulk from a supplier to save time for the in house chef... if there a chef in that house... that's a totally different topic) ; but your plate of Fish&chips will cost you $25 here ( the quality or lack of it in regards to the served mashed potatoes.... I will not even deal with it here.
🙄Oh..we love a lamb so much.... well.... this place called Schofields Bistro will even spoil the roasted piece of lamb shank they will serve you with a very questionable mint sauce which is of an even worse quality that the already bad tartar sauce....and on top of that they will serve this piece of lamb's leg topped with some marinara sauce..... what the heck is the kitchen chef smoking in this establishment?... pizza cheap marinara sauce on top of a roasted lamb leg.....what a disaster
🙄Almost forgot to mention that this place would like you to pay in CASH preferably...I wonder why ?!.....and their payment processing machine starts with 18% tip option.....to be honest for what we have been served with... they do not deserve any tip... sorry.... so bad....except the initial welcoming smile, anything else, including the below average dining atmosphere, is exactly that...unworthy of any...

EDIT* I will explain a bit more, sorry.
We came for a family members birthday. (September 17th around 5pm) It was most people's first time there. But I heard really good things, so maybe expectations were a bit too high.
Overall, it was a good time. My plate was fine and the same with my dads and sister, didn't really have anything wrong, but at the same time, for the price and expectations, it wasn't really that great either.
Now, the 2 other patrons ordered a rare and blue-rare steak. Both steaks came out pretty ridiculous 😅 some parts of the steak were so overcooked that it was like cardboard. Other parts of the same steak were "rare" but freezing cold. The steaks also had no color or flavor. We all tried it and agreed with them. It was like only half the stove was on while cooking it.
Our server was amazing. Honestly, bless her soul. I know how hard it is when something like this happens because it isn't her fault. And she was lovely. She gave our dog fresh water and was happy and friendly. We told her about the steaks, and EVEN SHE LOOKED SHOCKED. she took it back, then came back out to our table and told us straight up, she apologizes but the steaks are frozen, and it is hard to get them rare. But they still had to pay for their steak dinners, but they could get a free burger.. the steaks were a lot more expensive, but whatever. But then the burgers were dry 😅 there was no winning.
But anyways, like I said over all Was good time, but I just won't order steak ever. Drinks were good. Sitting on the sidewalk patio was fun for us. we don't mind people walking by and motorcycles zooming by, but if you want something quiet or don't want people smoking cigarettes around you while you're eating, then you might want to find a...
Read moreWhat attracted me to Schofields Bistro was when I saw Beef Tenderloin Medallions on the menu. This is a dish I rarely find on any restaurant menu and I just had to try it!
The restaurant is only open for the supper hours on Wednesday to Saturday: 4:00 – 8:00 pm (Sundays 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and closed Mondays & Tuesdays), so we arrived around 7:00 on a Saturday evening hoping to miss the main supper crowd but still leave enough time for our meal. We were not disappointed. One of the two ladies serving the tables had us seated at a cute table for two in quick order. The seats were padded and very comfortable.
The place has a warm, wonderful atmosphere with nice décor. Service was friendly and timely and the food came out to the table more quickly than we had anticipated!
We started with a shared Caesar salad and the chef kindly divided it into two plates for us. It was delicious. The dressing seemed homemade and salad featured real pieces of bacon and shaved parmesan cheese.
My wife ordered the Schofields Gourmet Burger and was amazed at the relatively large size of the patty! She was very happy with her dish.
I, of course, ordered the Beef Tenderloin Medallions with demi-glaze, garlic button mushrooms, mixed vegetables, and garlic mashed potatoes. It was even better than what I had expected. The meat, which I ordered medium, was done to perfection. The meat was so soft, tender, and tasty! It was simply divine!
We will definitely be back and plan on both ordering the medallion dish this time. I had my wife try some of mine and we both agreed that it was one of the best dishes we’ve had in a restaurant in a long time!
Highly...
