Upon arrival at noon there were 9 open tables. We waited 5 minutes for acknowledgment. A server said she would go get the hostess. We could see her talking to a young lady who was in conversation with another woman, apparently her conversation took precedence. When she finally arrived she looked at a spiral note book for a couple of minutes then asked us to wait and walked away. Another server was watching and walked over and finally sat us. She was very pleasant and apologized for the long wait.
I ordered eggs Benedict, she asked how I wanted the eggs, I told her medium. My partner asked for French toast.
When the food arrived, I noticed the sauce which is usually yellow and creamy and sits on top of the eggs was a brownish watery concoction. My partner received pancakes. I waved her over and mentioned he asked for French toast. She apologized and wanted to have it remade but we elected to just take the pancakes.
The eggs on the Benedict were hard boiled and honestly the sauce tasted like dish water. I ate the eggs only because the sauce was not on them. I really wish I had taken a picture but I was so disappointed I just wanted to leave. The pancakes were dense and cold. We asked to pay the bill. The serve brought a box and said I felt bad so she had them make the French toast. We thanked her, paid the bill and left.
Here’s a picture of the French toast. lol they should have just left well enough alone. We gave her a very generous tip, food quality is not her fault and she was very pleasant. We waited longer for a table...
Read moreThe only decent food is the pancakes. The rest of the food is very mediocre and pricey compared to every other breakfast place in the city. The table was a mess with sticky syrup everywhere, even after waiting 30 minutes for a table. We had a table of 6 and we all had lots of food. One person at our table is a slower eater, and the owner came over and started clearing our table and then told us that he's not rushing us, but there's a party waiting for our table. Our slower eater was in the bathroom and still had about half his food on his plate that he was trying to eat, but we were being rushed out. Also, one of the servers had very bad body odor and every time they walked by, it smelled so bad it completely turned us off eating. We mentioned all this to the owner and we were basically brushed off and given tons of excuses. I get that it's busy, but it takes less than a minute to clean the table properly. When people are waiting 30 minutes for a table, that extra minute means nothing. The bills were also mixed up when it came time to pay, but that was sorted out after the fact. We probably won't eat in again, but might order pancakes to go and pick them up. We will get the rest of our meal someplace else that treats customers a bit better. Not many options for dairy...
Read moreThe menu has both breakfast and lunch items which you can order from. They have a kids menu and crayons for them to use. There's a huge selection of choices for the family and they're accommodating. The bathrooms are clean and easy to get to. They have an accessible bathroom that's also a family bathroom. It has a neat option of waving your hand to close/open or lock the door. They offered top up for the coffees we ordered and they're attentive to the cup that was leaking. They gave us water and my son got a kids friendly cup with a straw made of clear plastic. The burger was amazing and the patties are made in house. It was really good. The soup was chicken with tomatoes like a minestrone soup. It was good. Not sweet or tangy. Didn't leave an aftertaste in my mouth like some tomato soup does. The plates and cups were clean. The utensils were good. The areas for dining are nice because they are moveable and booths but you can slip right in. There's plenty of room to walk around and I used a stroller but I hope it didn't bother anyone. There's still room to walk through the hall even with the stroller there. I think it's a restaurant that's going to be here for a long time. I hope it works out for the future and more people...
