What is it with these places that look like flippin' warehouses? This coffee joint is an expansive open space with zero atmosphere. Tables and chairs hug the perimeter, while an open area in the middle is full of blah: generic licensed and branded plastic drinkware and over-priced coffee stuff, in a cobbled together looking display totally devoid of attractive marketability. This open space...rather than conveying some i dunno, kinda cool, albeit passé vibe, just says...hmmm...spend your money and pass through quickly, or do sit in this unwelcoming Amazon-inspired space on these cheap and uncomfortable seats, preferably for a very short time. And it was cold in here...'tis not a place to linger in study or pre/post-whatever conversation with a hot bevvie, heck, even Apple laptop gal sat next to us used her coat as a lap blanket! Starbucks. Before you going public, you devolved from a laid back, quirky-ish place on the west coast where marathoners and hipsters went to get an intense dark roast brew, to a global enterprise with the whirring, buzz saw grind of blenders a-whippin' up overpriced, high calorie, sugary pap to the Ozempic crowd. I sure hope striking workers are demanding better working conditions, including hearing protection and a warm jacket to wear because they deserve better. Sigh...sometimes, it's just best to...
Read moreI just read some of the 1 star reviews to see if someone had a bad experience or no, and there they are bunch of staff behavior complaints. I'm not sure if Starbucks is deliberately not firing such demeaning staff, but I was so disappointed at this one girl working at the front. It was 4:30 pm on 23rd Oct, just for the record and when I entered the staff not only ignored me, but was staring at me so ominously from time to time, that I had to keep an eye on her in case she intended to jump on me. Though the guy that attended me was super nice, but again the girl that actually made my Cafe mocha dumped it on the serving counter without any eye contact or greeting words and then I found there was barely any cream inside the Cafe mocha for which I paid $6+ including tip. Starbucks please raise your standards....you don't want to ruin your reputation for the sake of staff with poor customer...
Read moreI ordered a coffee and I was waiting at the final window. The female attendant delivered my product and I asked for some sugar. She hesitated a bit but brought some. When I asked for more, she almost puffed in anger. Then proceeded to ask me to tell beforehand the amount of sugar I needed back at the first cabin, "because the system required it, thank you". Well, sugar, it seems you invented this rule, because there isn't one single drive through Starbucks I've been in the.world that required me to declare how many packets of sugar I needed in a first place; plus I called corporate so I could understand this bizarre rule, which to their astonishment, of course, doesn't exist. Of course, I filed a formal complaint for this attendant, someone who is prone to lose control and resort to sheer...
