Had an absolutely awful experience with an employee at this location yesterday . I have been a Starbucks customer for years now, it was my go to study spot with friends, and I occasionally get refreshers and decaf coffee as Iām not much of a coffee drinker. I recently just created an account with the Starbucks app/rewards program about 3-4 weeks ago and started collecting points. It happened to be my birthday the day this happened, so after I ordered my drink I went into my app and showed her my info that confirmed it was my birthday, even offered to show ID with my birthday on it. She told me I needed to be a loyal member for at least 6 months and that I also needed more activity on my account to be eligible for the drink. She handled the situation terribly, giving me a look in between annoyed/judgy and trying not smirk at the possibility I could be lying to her. My friend then told her to remove my app off the transaction so I didnāt get charged for my drink and then she pointed away and told us āyour drink will be down at the counterā. No smile, 0 customer service skills, and I ended up paying 7 dollars for a rushed drink without hardly being acknowledged. The situation was completely embarrassing and rude, and this rule should be removed or at least broken a few times in situations like these especially if you want a loyal customers. Absolutely wonāt be coming back to this location. If you want to keep customers, why deny a birthday drink to a brand new member of your app? Thereās even a feature in the app that only allows you to update your birthday once, and she looked at me like I was a total lier (again I offered to show my ID as extra proof). When I got home my sister told me she made her account the day before her birthday, showed extra proof of her birth date and they happily made her drink at this same location, even wrote happy birthday on the cup. No where does the app say āmust purchase lots of coffee to be eligible for a birthday giftā do you think Iām made of money?? At that point itās not even free if you add up the hundreds of dollars I would need to spend to get my birthday drink by next year. NOT coming back and had a horrible start to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt may seem odd that a new Starbucks opens across the street from an existing Starbucks. However, the plan is that the existing Starbucks located in the corner of a Chapters store, will go with the Chapters store when it moves into the nearby Cataraqui Mall.
The new Starbucks is a welcome addition to the Kingston market. It has pleasant baristas, a spacious and smart interior architecture, an outdoor patio on the shaded north side and a large parking lot. Most important of all, it has a drive-by window. Until now, only one other Starbucks store in Kingston had a drive-by, and it is located in north east Kingston next to the 401 highway. Drive-by windows are important in the north side of Kingston because of its growth and because of the large amount of traffic in the north/south corridor. This is evidenced by the two Tim Hortons stores west and east of the new Starbucks and which typically have a dozen cars in...

Wednesday oct 2nd at approx 1230 in the drive through, a very bad experience at Starbucks. Ordered a honey citrus mint tea, asked to sub the tea to mind tea which no one else has an issue either ever, but the girl taking the oder got mad me for asking for that and said āi am not substituting anythingā and instead charged me extra to make the honey citrus mint tea i has asked for.
I am a regular at Starbucks but i feel the brand is really not hiring the right people because when on average we pay $6 to $8 for a drink we expect to be treated with respect. This is not a one off incident i notice this more and more at a lot of locations.
I will advise stay away from this...
