Two stars and not one because our server was excellent. I had the rib and wing combo. Luckily I didn't get just the wings, because apparently they are incapable of actually cooking wings. First came out cold. I told my server, she apologized and went to get me fresh ones. Only problem was they were colder than the first ones! I called the server back and I told her, the bone is legit still frozen. And I let her feel just how cold it was. She apologized again and went to get her manager. The manager came over, said she removed $5 off my meal and hoped that was good enough... I asked if I was still going to get wings that were actually cooked. She said "at this point I don't think you're going to like the wings we are going to serve you" I explained it's not that I don't like the wings, THEY'RE STONE COLD. (At this point I tried to let her feel the chicken wing to see just how cold I was actually talking about... And she out right refused to feel the frozen bone) it's not a personal preference. You legally have to cook Wings beyond the bone being frozen. That's when she explained how they "nuked" my wings right before bringing them out to me.... Don't tell me you microwaved my chicken wings ... No wonder you can't serve cooked wings. After arguing a little more she finally said they'd try one more time and just have to make them "extra extra crispy" ... Which finally worked! The server spoke with us at the end (again she was wonderful through all this) and the kicker.... She said this happens quite often!!!!!! If something keeps happening where food literally isn't being cooked.... CHANGE THE WAY...
Read moreIf I could have given no star or 1/2 of one it would be a more accurate rating! I stopped in for lunch and wished I hadn’t. My cutlery was dirty, the table was dirty around the edges, like they forgot this area needed to be cleaned, the lampshade at my table was dirty (with food), the bulb above my head had cobwebs all over it, the walls had days old food on them, the windowsill had cobwebs as well and the vinegar bottle still sealed had stuff floating in it. My only thought was, if this is the condition of the dining room what’s the level of cleanliness in the kitchen like? I didn’t venture to the washroom. As a business owner and a person who has worked in the cleaning industry I say to the owner (or manager-if not independently owned) if you don’t want to pay for the staff to clean during their shift (like I did when I waitressed) then do it yourself, if for no other reason than this place is a reflection of who you are as a business owner/or manager. I will never return nor recommend. In a time when money is tight, costs are high this restaurant has the opportunity to fill it’s tables based on the price of the food offered and yet, it wasn’t packed or what I would call busy. With so many choices, this place could be top of the list, however for me, it’s not even at the bottom. Please don’t reply with a link to do a survey…I’m...
Read moreOver the last year I have dined at Swiss Challet at least 5 times as I love the food and want to equally enjoy the experience. We are a family that dines out rarely and when we do it is to celebrate an event in our lives. We understand busy..all we expect is well cooked food and considerate service. Sadly I have not enjoyed any of my experiences, not as a result of the food but due to truly inconsiderate service. Whether it is the manger who is being rude to the guests in front of me waiting to be seated when there are so many apparently available seats or the instantly annoyed servers who treat you like a burden. Tonight was the last straw...basically throwing our items on our table and over an hour and 45 minutes waiting..with no consideration. So why do I keep going back? Because the food is always consistently great and my family always reminds of that. I have never written a negative review...our last night out a few months ago to the Red house West end was great so I took the time to thank them with a glowing review. Despite the mistakes to our order( which happens) they made the night well worth it as they were considerate, appreciative and attentive. This meant the world to us. Will I go back to Swiss Chalett???.maybe for take out....but never again to be mistreated...
