Tanjore North Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Ontario

Incredibly rude and unprofessional. The absolute worst customer service. Order was placed via phone. This was more difficult than it had to be. Asked which chicken items they had, the lady proceeded to tell us they did not have butter chicken. Maybe she was hard of hearing. I had to persuade and extract the available menu items from her. Order was to be ready in 30 mins. Got there in 37 mins. Order was not yet ready. A few minutes of waiting it was ready. Great. Paid for the food. We saw that there was an outdoor patio section with a (dirty) table. Asked if the patio is open and if we can eat there. The cook's face contorted into one possessed by rage. He started shouting, "DID YOU ORDER TAKEOUT OR DINE IN?!!". I was a little confused and taken aback at the response. He continued shouting that take out is takeout and dining in is dining in. When the guy stopped to take a breather I simply told him that there was no need to be so negative. The guy does not respond but the lady quickly spoke up and said, "He's not being negative. He's explaining." My colleague and I walk out. I did not get a clear answer but I think this restaurant is not allowing dine in on their patio. My colleague thinks their food is good. I consider the food to be average. I'm not sure if it was the food or if it was the absolute failure of basic human interaction, but I have some indigestion now. Also, not a single napkin or utensil was included in the takeout. The naan was also a little cold. My colleague who orders from here stated they make a habit of not including utensils with takeout. I won't order from here in the future. I hope the staff learn how to interact with people better. I waa born in a 3rd world country and this is objectively the worst customer service I've ever received from...

Horrible service! Server was rude,arrogant and disrespectful!

I had reservation for 4 people and she didn’t even take our order properly.

I ask my dish to be spicy and i got mild instead. When I called her back to confirm with her, she said it was so I didn’t bother her after she gave me dirty looks. Then in the end of the meal she says that she has to clean and sanitize the table and would appreciate if we didn’t touch everything as she would have to sanitize even the chairs n the next table next to ours.

So many things went wrong. I hope the owner see this review as I didn’t want to tell her off as I was with company. First of all, respect me as I came in with respect; I even booked a reservation for dine in. Don’t give me dirty looks when I tell you there’s something wrong with the food. Take it back and replace it please, don’t tell me that it’s spicy because I have taste it and so had everyone on the table to tell me that’s not spicy. Afterwards, you are trying to “teach us” not to touch tables and chairs?!? Like what? If you want to continue running a successful restaurant during covid times, you must sanitize everything, including your hands and the table. Now, I don’t understand why there was a need at the end of the meal telling us not to touch when you could have easily just said good bye to us and do your job which is finishing serving us and cleaning tables.

Tanjore North Indian Cuisine is a culinary delight that everyone should experience. The quality of the food is consistently incredible, order completion is always punctual, and the quantity of food will leave you satisfied. Great prices, and a hospitable family owned, and operated atmosphere. I personally recommend the Kadhai Gosht! Thanks for opening your doors, Tanjore North Indian Cuisine!

Edit: It has been about a year since first reviewing Tanjore North Indian Cuisine. My family and I have tried numerous dishes, from Bhoona Masala, Gosht Patiala to Vindaloo and Bombay Fish curry to vegetarian dishes such as Dal Tadka and Dal Makhni (Both of which our toddler adores!). Our Favourite appetizers are the Paneer Pakoras and Onion Bajji. Every single dish that we order has been outstanding, full of flavour and worthy of praise!
