There is no parking available on site so you have to be prepared to do street parking here. The street parking is free for 2 hours after 6PM Mon-Sat and free all day Sunday. Just make sure you plan ahead. I made a reservation here a few days in advance and if you are able to they prefer it so they can save you a spot but while I was there they had some empty tables so don't make it stop you from coming here. The food was great!!! Nice to try a new style of food for the first time and have a great experience. I ordered the number 1 platter that was a mix of chicken, beef, and vegetarian dishes and it was a great way to sample a lot of dishes at once. Now you have to be ready and willing to eat with your hands as it is the traditional style. They used teff bread which is a sort of crepe but not sweet to scoop the main dishes with and it worked out well and made for a fun experience. They do have cutlery as well, just request it as needed. The waitress was very friendly, spent time letting us know what the popular dishes were, which were spicy, and letting us know what style of bread we were eating. Prompt with fresh bottles of water as needed and quick to clear plates when we were finished. Very pleasent experience here and I recommend if your feeling adventurous or just looking for a great meal to grab a table here, or take out as they offer delivery too. Thanks for the great meal!!!

Tonight, I got to eat at a special restaurant. One that delivers all a restaurant could ever offer. Its name is TG’s Addis Ababa Restaurant. The appetizer I always get is Chechebsa. It is the single best appetizer I have had in London, period. It’s made of flat bread, butter, berbere, beans, and honey. It all combines to a sweet, chewy, addictive taste. My main was the Shuro Wott. In this dish, seasoned and powdered chickpeas are cooked in a mild sauce and Ethiopian spices. This is all served with injera bread and greens. Injera is a spongey flatbread that you use to pick up other ingredients and eat. The prices are affordable. All the appetizers (including Chechebsa) cost less than $3.50, but most mains cost around $16.00. Inside the restaurant, you get a sense of Ethiopia’s culture. Everywhere you look there are items like paintings, wood carvings, tea pots, and portraits of Ethiopians. The owner and server always take care of me and even gave me extra food to take home, free of charge. TG’s Addis Ababa Restaurant is a jewel in London’s culinary world. And they rightly deserve more business.

Addis Ababa on Dundas Street is an experience every Londoner or visitor to London must try. First, plan to spend your evening there, this is not fast food. The atmosphere transforms the patron to another place with instruments and a painted fresco on the ceiling. They have different spices they bring through in a pan and then they heated some spices in the middle of the room halfway through our evening. Now, the coffee and tea must be experienced. The tea is very spiced, similar to chai, coffee fresh made and brought to the table in an authentic pot, strong like an espresso in small cups. The meal can be shared or not, they have different types of spice levels and vegetarian options they will accommodate. The plates in my pics are combos A and B, I believe. You pick up the food with the bread to eat and they come around with more bread than you could eat. I will end with the service which was so gracious and amazing. I will return for the service alone.

Extremely disappointed with my first and last dining experience. I am very experienced with Ethiopian food and culture as I have family that lives in Ethiopia and I’ve been there multiple times. The service was terrible, they have a miserable waitress working there who doesn’t even understand the food. I’m not sure how anyone could keep her working in customer service. I took my niece here who is half Ethiopian and was craving the food. We waited 50 minutes for our food which is ridiculous because the food we ordered does not take long to cook. I asked why it was taking so long after 40 minutes and they said they were making everything fresh. We were literally about to just get up and leave and we finaly received our food at 50 minutes. Some of it was warm and some of it was room temp. Very strange for “freshly made” right? The injera was atleast a day old. My neice was super dissapointed and so was I. I asked them to heat it up and the rude waitress said that is how it’s served. We ordered a by yaynet, a kitfo and shero. The flavours were lacking and watered down. I was so fed up and it was so late I went to the front for like the 4th time asking for assistance I wanted a take out container for only the one dish that my neice was going to take home and add more ingredients to. The owner decided to give us a 15% discount randomly I guess he could see I was pissed. I did not tip the waitress and I am never one to withhold a tip as I have worked as a waitress before but she made my experience worse than it already was. The owner lady came out at the end apologizing for the wait and I tried to explain to her what happened and she basically tried to rewrite history and said we were only waiting for half an hour not 50 minutes. And than proceeded to say “I came in for another reason” … yes I came to wait at your restaurant for an a hour to eat and just randomly complain for no reason. She wasn’t listening to me at all and just kept talking so I grabbed my nieces hand and we just left. Terrible customer service and the food is not authentic. Will never be back, there are numerous other Ethiopian...

Tried Addis Ababa with a couple friends as my second Ethiopian restaurant experience (the first being the previous night in Toronto).

Immediately the pleasant decor gave me much higher expectations compared to the restaurant visited the previous night, and I think those expectations were largely met pretty well.

I don't recall the names of the dishes that we ordered, but we all sampled eachothers' dishes and everything was quite tasty, and the other reviews stating generous portion sizes definitely weren't kidding. I think I will opt for the combination platters instead of a single primary item, as the variety I saw in my friends' dishes was welcome.

Everything was very good, but If I had to pick a single star of the meal, it might actually be the coffee. I'm fairly ignorant of typical ethiopian dining practices, so I was surprised to hear that they roast the beans to order, and bring them to the table (still smoking, and pre-grinding) to show those who ordered them. The smell was incredible, and the brew tasted very, very good as well (which as we learned, the coffee is brought out to complement the meal, so you won't receive it until your food comes out).

If there was one complaint to be had, it would be that the wait for the food to arrive was a little on the long side. Nothing excessive, but just enough to be apparent.

This is definitely on my short list of places I plan on returning to, especially on those days where I feel like I want something a...
