Heard about this place because it was supposed to be similar to Donya Kebab. Not as good. I got the Sultani Kebab King Meal (7.4/10). The Tikka Kebab (8.1/10) was good and had alot of flavour. The Kofta Kebab (6.8/10) didn't have much flavour and tasted more like dry, ground beef. Rice was good (7.9/10). Good flavour. Salads were okay, but would've liked more vegetables with it (7.1/10). The Naan (6.6/10) was thick, but kind of dry and need something with it as a pairing and added to the dryness of the overall meal. I'd come back to try the lamb shank and tandoori chicken. 5/22/24 Returned with a friend to try the lamb shank and tandoori chicken. Disappointing 😞. Lamb Shank (7.1/10). Fell off the bone, but not much flavour. A friend of mine told me it was greasy, but it wasn't. Tandoori Chicken (7.5/10). A little spice, but somehow a little dry. Alright flavour. I Dipped some in the salsa and white dip that came with it which was okay. Soup? (6.3/10). Kind of bland and had rice in it. No salad? Flatbread (5.4/10). Thick, dry and needs a dip or something to pair it with like a specific dip. The dips provided didn't pair. I dipped it in the soup which didn't enhance the flavour. Rice (6.2/10). Less flavour and more bland then last time. I don't have much desire to return here. There's other restaurants with similar food that does them better.

I ate at The Kebab King this evening. Its location is Oxford St and Wonderland Rd, across the street from the Costco. As I walked in through the entrance, I spotted a “bed” along one of the walls. It was neatly covered by blankets and pillows. These blankets and pillows seemed characteristic of the Middle East. This makes sense because it’s listed as an Afghan restaurant on Google Maps. Customers use this “bed” to wait comfortably for their orders. I ordered a Tandoori chicken kebab, which is one of their King Meals. It came with marinated and red chicken, a ton of rice, Afghan naan, and a salad. Both the rice and the salad had a mysterious, brown spice. I then had to tackle dessert. The only two options were baklava and Firni (a creamy pudding made from ground rice and milk that was mixed with cardamom). I had Firni. The Kebab King is certainly the king of kebabs. They deliver food that will not only fill you but also satiate your savoury cravings.

We moved to London a while back from Toronto and the one thing we missed dearly was afghan food from Kandahar Kabob, having visited Kebab King, I feel like we found our spot for Afghan food. We ordered 1. Lamb shank meal 2. Chicken Tandoori kebab meal 3. Kebab wrap 4. Choppan kebab meal (lamb chops) Total bill around CAD 65 Got the food with a whole lot of waiting time and everything seemed freshly prepared. The taste and flavor far exceeded our expectations and we were left wondering, how we missed coming here sooner. It is a must visit place if you live in or are visiting London. Special shout for nailing the naan and white sauce and giving value for money. Hope you will keep that up and not increase your pricing for the foreseeable future.

If you're in search of an extraordinary culinary journey, look no further than The Kebab King where the flavors of Afghanistan come alive in a delightful and memorable way. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this remarkable establishment, and I must say that the experience exceeded all my expectations.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible Afghan cuisine that graced my taste buds. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully crafted with authentic ingredients and bursting with tantalizing flavors. From the moment the fragrant aromas wafted through the air, I knew I was in for something truly special.

The menu offered an impressive selection of traditional Afghan delicacies, and it was a tough decision to make. However, with the guidance of the friendly and knowledgeable staff, I was able to choose an array of dishes that would satisfy my curiosity and appetite. And boy, did they deliver!

The kebabs were succulent, perfectly grilled to perfection and seasoned with a blend of spices that left my taste buds dancing in delight. The mantu, a classic Afghan dumpling dish, was a true revelation. Each delicate parcel was filled with a heavenly combination of minced meat, onions, and spices, topped with a tantalizing tomato sauce that brought the whole dish together in harmony.

The prices were surprisingly affordable, considering the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. It was a refreshing change to enjoy such exquisite cuisine without breaking the bank. This accessibility makes it an ideal destination for both casual dining and special occasions.

The warm and inviting atmosphere added to the overall experience. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with Afghan-inspired accents, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The soft lighting and comfortable seating made it the perfect place to unwind and savor the flavors of Afghanistan.

I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was with my visit at this restaurant. The outstanding food, coupled with the reasonable prices and inviting atmosphere, truly make it a gem among culinary establishments. It's no wonder that I'm already planning my next visit, eager to explore more of the Afghan culinary wonders that this restaurant has to offer.

In conclusion, The Kebab King should be in every corner in London and this place is a true testament to the rich and diverse flavors of Afghan cuisine. With its exceptional food, affordable prices, and delightful ambiance, it has undoubtedly earned its rightful place as a top-notch dining destination. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic experience. It deserves nothing less than a perfect...

Let me start like so , the worst place to try Afghan dishes👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻ever,as the taste of non of their dishes were even close to afghan food, all were blend , tasteless n bizarre in texture n taste…. Everything tastes something else but our authentic dishes . It was my first time n had high expectations but unfortunately is going to be my last time. The portion size n the service were okay but taste of every single dish we ordered were bizarre, 1)the chapli kebabs weren’t chapli kabab at all, taste very bitter. 2)Bolani were bitter as well i guess they used a very old flour or very old potatoes. 3)The marination on tikka kabab was so funny n wear off as if u r eating piece of wet cloth, 4)also the salad was very old may be of day or two day , u could see discolouration in tomatoes n onion pieces very stale n mushy completely funny in taste. The rice plav had no flavour with no afghan rice spices , completely blend and tasteless. My recommendation and suggestion to this particular restaurant ;either work on ur flavours by hiring an expert Afghan chef who knows how to prepare n cook afghan dishes or change the title of ur restaurant from king Afghan to anything but far from associating ur service to our dishes; cause this place is just a disrespect n brings shame to the authenticity of our Afghan dishes . Please folks it’s okay to go to this bizarre restaurant have a small( French fries) but dont consider their dishes as Afghan dishes n definitely dont waste ur money . As an Afghan i felt very bad n disappointed n...
