168 Sushi restaurant use to be 5 Stars almost 10 years ago back in 2015, and now it went downhill over the years likely with new management and the new owner of the business. When I have gone here with a couple of my relatives. We were charge 15% surcharge of mandatory tipping, and shockingly there is a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes. So, this is more like “There is a limit to eat” than calling this “All you can eat”. My brother ordered a few items, and he is still missing the salmon hand rolls and other salmon sushi rolls. The service is slow and items were missing. I had their grilled mackerel, but it is too much bones and they do not put the sauce on it for you. Another downside is their ice creams is not on their tablets. You have to walk several metres towards the bar section to scoop your own ice creams, and it can be hassle waiting a couple minutes for the people who are scooping a bowl of ice creams. For almost 10 years, how can a good sushi buffet went down so poorly? Why is there a time limit; when patrons are charge 15% mandatory tipping and the service is slow? It was not like that before just petty cheap owner who wants to cut corners to save cost and overcharge customers. They just want you to stay there for 90 minutes, and asked you to pay and leave their restaurant. It is not we are trying to take advantage of eating everything you have from your inventory or hurting your business. For the last couple years, I have a lot better experience with other buffet restaurants than 168 Sushi restaurant on Oxford Street beside Crabby Joe’s restaurant and near the former Porsche dealership. After the poor experience, I will never come back to 168 Sushi restaurant. The manager there sounds like he is yelling when he talks to his customers or people over the phone. I will patronize Sushi Galore restaurant on the Hyde Park area across from Rona hardware store close to the Starbuck, and Dairy Queen. Another best sushi All-You-Can-Eat restaurant is iHeart Sushi buffet restaurant just across the road beside T&T Supermarket. I would recommend those two sushi buffet restaurants as a better alternatives over 168 Sushi restaurant. Those two sushi buffet restaurants have much better service, no time limits and better quality food. I had never had a bad experience of those two buffet restaurants. 168 Sushi restaurant is more of greed over customer satisfied service. More like 168 Reasons why not eat at this restaurant. The only decent food is their seafood boiled, sashimi and beef. I am going to Sushi Galore restaurant next time, and I do not mind driving a few kilometres toward the Hyde Park area. I would not recommend 168 Sushi restaurant to anyone. Slow service, greedy by charging mandatory tipping and a time limit to eat there. There are many better sushi restaurants that offers All-You-Can-Eat service in London, Ontario. Do not spend a dollar here. I will avoid coming here in the future and this will be my last time here. My experience is poor here and never again I...
Read moreNormally I’m not the type to leave reviews, but something needs to be said. I visited this location with my sister and was far more than just disappointed with the service. Our meal started alright until a group came in, clearly friends with our waitress. They proceeded to very loudly talk rudely about my sister and I to the waitress, accusing us of continuously looking over at them (my sister and I had both turned to look when they walked in, which is a completely normal reaction given we were seated by the door). The waitress was also participating in this, making us feel very uncomfortable. She then turned away and began chatting with one of her coworkers, and I could very clearly see her point us out and say something to her, causing her coworker to roll her eyes.
We only took 30 minutes to eat, then asked for our bills, separate. I made it very clear to our waitress that we had exact change for one bill, and would need change for the second. I handed her 40$ for a 24.80$ bill, and waited for my change. The waitress proceeded to chat with her friends, her coworker (once again pointing to us and saying something??), give her friends their bill, see them out the door AND begin clearing their table before I had to ask for my change back, 20 minutes after we had handed her our cash. She tells me that she thought I had handed her exact change and that I hadn’t said anything, but that she’d go and check the till. She comes back with 15$ change, short the 20 cents. Under most circumstances I’d let that slide, but at this point, I didn’t want to give this location any more money than I already had. Upon returning with the 20 cents, she once again restates that we hadn’t said anything. Thank you for telling us that we were in the wrong for you forgetting a whole 15.20$ change.
Never returning to...
Read morei had never been to 168 before, but i had always heard it’s a fan fav so i was excited! we dined in from around 8:20-9:20. this was a friday and they close at 10.
first interactions were nice, the server who greeted us was smiling and friendly. the ipad to order food was a lil grimy kinda gave ipad kid sticky fingers vibes, but i get it people touch it while they’re eating food so it’s bound to get sticky, maybe a wipe in between though? 🥹
first order of food was ok for the most part. stuff that was meh- the general tao chicken was mostly hard breading, the dumplings seemed refried? like too hard almost.
the thing that sucked though is we felt weirdly rushed. the robot that delivers your food came over and we’re taking it off happy all that, when a server comes and takes the last dish off fast as hell and sends the robot away. why’d we send the robot if i gotta rush and whip everything off with lighting speed 🥺
i had what i assume is a manager staring a little too long as if it see where we were in our leaving. music was turned off and it felt like they were closing so i checked when they close online, it says 10 and it was only 9:20.
allllll this being said, this experience could have been because it was later, the last round of people before close, but when you’re spending your hard earned money on a night out for dinner, it really really sucks when the food feels like scraps at the end of the night and service feels like we’re being pressured to leave asap. total was like $120 - for many that’s a good chunk of a paycheck :(
anyway so ya maybe don’t come at night perhaps that...
