TL;DR: Low-quality food, awful website ordering experience, long wait time for delivery.
Personal Conclusion: management does not care enough about the quality of items they put out to the public to ensure satisfaction. Detailed Review Below
Strike 1: The website did not describe each dish, and if you're not familiar with them all, you had to look it up. We came back here to Google Maps and viewed 7 year old photos of the menu to know what was in each dish to decide what we wanted.
Strike 2: The build-your-own pasta does not allow you to select more than one add-on item, so you have to choose between chicken OR mushrooms if you want both in your "Al Fredo".
Strike 3: Delivery times should be disclosed at the start of the online ordering experience. It took us 30 mins to look up each dish and decide on the order because they were not described on the restaurant's website, and then we had to wait an extra 80 minutes? Unacceptable.
Strike 4: food quality (build your own "Al Fredo"). APPEARANCE - thick, gray, suspiciously gravy-like. SMELL - cooked noodles, nothing else. Completely absent of any detectable smell of garlic, Italian herbs, salt/pepper, or spices. CONSISTENCY - grainy, thick, resembling gravy. FLAVOR - bland, lack of flavor, floury, no detectable amount of seasonings or herbs.
It tasted like someone was making biscuits and gravy with milk and flour, but used no flavor ingredients to make it actually taste like anything in particular, so it was served in an adolescent stage of completion. Whisked to thickness with no afterthought of impressing the consumer. Either that or someone may have mistaken an unfinished pot of actual gravy for the pot of alfredo.
I have made far better dishes at home simply using heavy cream, butter, garlic, and a little salt and pepper from a basic Google recipe. Why was a "famous" establishment—where the entire purpose is to serve good quality food to the public—unable produce a similar level of quality on such a basic dish? The establishment then added insult to injury by preventing the choice of more than one add-in, and still cost more than lasagna?? Customers can't have both mushrooms and chicken in their alfredo? This is a very common alfredo combination. At least allow them to pay more for it.
I did what I could to add life to this dish, but by then it was cold, and I was very hungry and just flat out disappointed. I ended up choosing cold leftovers from the...
Read moreWe were deciding where to get pizza due to the fact that our local pizza place (that is totally awesome) was closed. We decided on Tony's Pizza - just to mix it up a bit. This was only the second time we have ordered from here with the last time being over 20 years ago. Needless to say I do not remember how it was last time. We ordered an Xtra Lg with 4 toppings and a medium panzoratti. The total came to approx. $60.00. I was shocked but then again, our favourite pizza place is a bit pricey but the pizza is fantastic!! But I digress.....As soon as I opened the box, I knew I would be disappointed. We ordered mushrooms, onions, green peppers and tomatoes. While there were adequate tomato pieces, there could have been more onions, for an xtra lg, there was definitely not enough green pepper 'pieces' and the mushrooms were canned. (Can I tell you how much I detest canned mushrooms?....they are squidgy and tasteless.) It also looked liked there was too much cheese but that was just an illusion. The crust was way too thick, giving the illusion of lots of cheese. (I also question the quality of the cheese) Plus there was very little pizza sauce. At first I didn't even think they put any on it. The crust really makes or breaks a pizza. It's what holds everything together and this crust fell short as well. It was hard and dry on the bottom which extended to the crust around the perimeter. Slightly soft in the middle and then doughy (not completely cooked) on the top where it met with the toppings. The pizza alone probably ended up costing at least $35.00 - it was not worth the cost. I would not order pizza from here again. I'm all for supporting local businesses but I'm not going to eat at a place that skimps on quality...
Read moreFirst off I really like their pizza, I would have rated MUCH higher if I based this on pizza alone. I had the Chicken Saltimboca it came with Penne Alfredo, sautéed mushrooms and garden salad (which I didn't receive). The menu decribed the chicken as stuffed, it was not. On a positive note the prosciutto was delicious and seemed authentic although it was draped over the chicken breast covered in marinara sauce and cheese... I asked the waitress if the Alfredo was made from scratch, she assured me it was. When I make Alfredo I make it with cream, a little butter, salt and pepper, a little garlic, white wine and some parmesan cheese... This Alfredo sauce had ABSOLUTELY NO flavor, no texture in my view and experience this was not made from scratch.... If I am wrong, my apologies. Please share with me your recipe for your Alfredo because when I took it home and heated it up the sauce did not and would not break... My final discrepancy, my girlfriend ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. It was a traditional carbonara which I am not as familiar with or have a taste for but the spaghetti was cut into Small pieces, that of which you might do for a toddler. A pasta spoon was provided BUT why? There wasn't a piece more than two inches... PLEASE do not take this the wrong way. No ill intent is ment. I have pondered this meal and the only conclusion I can come to is you may cater to a more senior crowd? Hence dulled flavor and bite sized spaghetti strands? To finish, the atmosphere it that of a authentic Italian eatery, a very pleasant environment and a delightful people. I hope to visit again for a...
