Went into the little shop on Richmond because we were hungry after an event. The two young guys behind the counter had no idea what was going on. Didn’t have anything that was on their menu besides two things, offered us a “good deal” on what they had. couldn’t give an accurate estimate of our wait, the “good deal” turned out to be the guys seemed to just arbitrarily come up with a price.“had no change” so we couldn’t pay in cash. We paid debit, then after the initial transaction he realized he didn’t charge us for our can of pop or water, then made us do another transaction on our debit.(some people have limited number of transactions on their debit…)Then after we finally got the payment sorted, they accidentally knocked our food on the floor.(now this alone I would never complain about because mistakes happen and it’s not a big deal but on top of everything else…) they had to remake our order, doubling our already long wait time. We heard them discussing giving our money back, but couldn’t figure it out on the debit so they just didnt… they could have at least offered our friends to be on the house(they knocked theirs over with ours and they hadnt paid yet) They also definitely heated our food by wrapping it in tinfoil and putting it on a panni press… no surprise when we did get our food it was cold.(we literally stepped outside the door, and had some less than a minute after it was handed to us.) The rice tasted like it might be good, if it was warm. Chicken wing was straight up cold. Didn’t dare touch the salad due to observation of the lack of proper food handling. After all was said and done it took an hour of our night, waiting for food that should have been easy to pick up and walk out with within 15 min. Read moreMy recent experience with Val's restaurant for a delivery order was far from satisfactory. Despite my hopes for a convenient and enjoyable meal, I was met with disappointment on multiple fronts.
First and foremost, the communication and coordination regarding my delivery order were severely lacking. There was a noticeable lack of updates or transparency regarding the status of my order, leaving me in the dark and uncertain about when to expect its arrival. This lack of communication only added to the frustration of an already disappointing experience.
When my order finally did arrive, the quality of the food left much to be desired. Items were poorly packaged, resulting in spillage and a mess upon arrival. Additionally, the food itself was underwhelming in terms of taste and freshness, failing to meet the standard of quality I had hoped for from Val's.
Furthermore, the customer service provided during this ordeal was sorely lacking. Instead of addressing my concerns with empathy and professionalism, the staff seemed indifferent to my dissatisfaction, further souring my impression of the restaurant.
Overall, my delivery experience with Val's restaurant was a disappointment from start to finish. The lack of communication, subpar food quality, and indifferent customer service have left me with little desire to patronize this establishment again...
Read moreI have mixed feelings on this place. Their food is just awesome. But they need to improve on their wait times and order process if they dont want to lose on their customers. I ordered for a mixed platter dish over the phone at 3:30pm on 31st dec 2020. I specifically asked for a pick up time of 5:15pm and they told it will be ready. So i reach there for my pick at 5:30pm only to see there is a long queue outside waiting to go in with Covid limitations of (max 5 ppl inside). I thought ok there could be many restrictions now. So i decide to leave the queue, pick up my child from day care and come back. I got back at 6:10pm with my child, now the long queue was inside. Every staff was rushing everywhere, the beautiful lady at the counter was very confused and the order and pick up signs dint matter. I somehow reach the lady after a long wait again and tell her my name and that i ordered over phone for a pick up of 5. Is the order ready? She grabs hold of (i am assuming) the owner, and i learn its not ready. Again waited until 7pm with my child bothering now. In the meantime, from all that I observed I felt bad for them. They were trying very hard to satisfy everyone but they were not organised. Again food was absolutely great and we loved it. I will go back but I hope they work on organising...
