absolutely amazed with the service last night! i went out with my bestie and boyfriend to celebrate my birthday which was a few days prior, and when my friend mentioned it WAS my birthday, our lovely waitress, vanessa, still offered me the typical birthday celebration with a sundae! i dont have a major sweet tooth, so i let her know id think about it (id feel bad wasting food i didnt eat). this brings us to the actual dinner part; while taking our orders, we explained to vanessa that it was my friends first time at red lobster and that she LOVED the biscuits (as we do) and she let us know how to get extras since it was a slow night! the drinks were amazing, and so was the food, however, i have an eating disorder known as ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) due to being autistic. because of this, i like my food a particular way (though, i dont like to ask for accommodations unless possible and necessary) and with salmon, i cant eat the skin. so i flip it over and remove the skin to find a patch of red in the middle, and at the time i wasnt aware it was just a vein, so i asked our server about it, to which she also didnt think it looked normal, and offered to have it redone, to which i accepted. then, another lady, who i didnt get the bame of but u could only assume is the manager or owner of this particular red lobster (she was dressed for buisness) came over to apologise, but also explain that it is normal and just a vein and that most people dont notice because they leave the skin. she was so understanding, offered to cook it a little longer to make sure it was perfect! my friend and i went out for a quick smoke, and when we came back in my food was already there. i kid you not i almost cried when i flipped over my salmon to remove the skin only to realize they removed it for me already 🥹 i had mentioned i didnt like it in passing and it was clearly a new piece of fish. after we finished eating, we headed to the bar (after vanessa convinced me to get a slice of cake to make up for my food and gave us EACH a bag of extra biscuits to go) and as we're sitting at the bar, vanessa comes out with a beautifully decorated happy birthday plate and sundae!! and to top it all off, miss boss lady from before came to let us know that the salmon is covered because to her, it should have been right the first time. i dont think i will ever experience a place more considerate and understanding as this restaurant! anyone who knows me personally knows i despise any corporate buisness chains, but red lobster is no longer one of them, this location cares for their customers and went above and beyond to make sure i was happy, comfortable, and able to enjoy my food! (which if i wasnt clear, was delicious btw! both salmon! it was just the visual that put me off for a few minutes)
forgot to add that my boyfriend finished the sundae since it was too...
Read moreI was so excited to bring my teenagers to Red Lobster as it’s been one of my absolute favourite restaurants for decades. My grandfather was born and raised in the Maritimes so I grew up on Lobster and always enjoyed it at RL. I made a reservation with the very polite host that answered the phone. I made it for 5:15 on Easter Sunday and when we arrived, the hostess sat at the very back end of the restaurant, even though there were so many empty seats at much better tables, but we didn’t want to complain. We waited for a while for anyone to come to our table, and finally our server walked by and told us he’d be right back. No problem! He came back and took our drink order-both my teens had the lemonade as the Virgin Pina Coladas were almost $8! For a virgin drink?? That made me realize how pricey the entire menu was; there were not any options for lobster or crab under $35. I couldn’t believe just how expensive everything on the menu was but it was a special day. I ordered the shrimp, crab and lobster tail for $55 and my daughter ordered the salmon, shrimp and lobster tail as well. My son shared my plate r with me. The kitchen continued to run out of biscuits, so it took about 20 min before we were served those. At this point, it’s 6 and we’re so hungry but don’t want to fill up entirely on biscuits but we’re still waiting for food. The restaurant was not at capacity so I’m not sure why the wait was so long. I understood though, bc I’ve been a former server at several busy restaurant for years. Our food came and it was good; we made fun of my daughter’s plate though as it looked like she ordered butter soup- her fork sank under that much butter. It wasn’t very appealing although she did say her food was delicious. My food was ok but not what I would have expected from Red Lobster. I know I’ve had far better meals there and I was somewhat disappointed bc it was so much better the last times I’ve been there. Had our waiter not been as gracious or polite as he was, I would have been extremely disappointed in our entire experience there, but he was incredibly nice and friendly. I’m not sure I’d bring my kids back there or not as including tip, my bill came to $170 and that’s with no appetizers, and only 2 adult meals. I hate complaining but that is very expensive for what we got. I wish I could give this last visit a 5 star but this time I needed to say something. Food was...
Read moreOn July 3, my husband and I went to the restaurant, and we had a kind of nightmare.
First, the table that the host seated us at was very dirty. When I kindly asked the server, Dave, to clean the table and bench before we sat down, he was very rude.
After that, he only came by our table after a while, and it seemed like he had a reason, considering the restaurant wasn't busy. However, he left us waiting for a long time. After taking our order, he collected all the menus, and when I asked him to leave the shrimp festival menu on the table, he refused.
I have worked as a Restaurant Supervisor and a server as well, and I can recognize when someone is not happy and providing poor service. For a moment, I doubted whether the problem was with me and my husband. However, another set of customers arrived and sat behind us, and when Dave took their order, he was just as unprofessional. The customers at that table spoke to the host and requested to change tables and have a new server. The host handled the situation and assigned another server to them.
My husband and I continued to have Dave as our server, and when my husband's plate arrived, everything was a mess. First, Dave entered the wrong shrimp for him, and secondly, his pasta came without any sauce. He had to ask Dave twice to bring it on the side because the pasta was so dry. Please see the attached picture to confirm that I'm not lying. Literally, my husband had to assemble his own plate.
We tried to locate a manager during our experience there, but we couldn't find anyone in charge. It was a really bad experience overall. We are extremely frustrated because we had expected to have a nice and delicious experience there.
I hope someone responsible can now explain to us if this is the regular experience that the restaurant provides for...
