ZERO stars if it was allowed. I'm a night owl which means I get hungry at 3am etc... 4 times now I've been to this location and the first 3 the drive through had pylons to block both entrances. The 3rd time I saw the manager outside enjoying a smoke so I asked why the drive through was closed. Her response was that all the kitchen staff called in sick...so she decided to shut down the restaurant. Odd decision instead of finding replacements. I worked at McDonalds in my youth and not ONCE did it shut down because anyone called in sick, regardless of what hour it was. This last time just did it for me. I get there @ 3AM for a burger and fries knowing they switch over to breakfast @ 3:30AM. Instantly someone comes on the speaker and very quickly said something about the system being down and the best they could do was offer me a free coffee. She spoke so fast I barely understood what she said so I asked her to repeat it. She repeats herself, slower this time, thankfully. I ask how long will it be down for she says for 5 mins. No problem, I said, I'll wait. Perplexed at this point that I wasn't even offered the possibility of waiting until I requested it, strange but whatever. 8 minutes goes by and I haven't heard nothing so I just ask if it's still down. Yes, sorry, just 1 more minute. Sure no problem but why did I have to ask this after 8 minutes. You know I'm out there waiting, the courteous thing to do after 5 minutes would be to, oh I dunno, communicate with a waiting customer?? Strange notion, I know! Unbelievable. Anyhow, a minute later she's all ready to take my order. Great, I ordered a burger and fries. It's now 3:15AM. Oh, I'm sorry we're actually serving breakfast now. Wait, last time I was here I was informed by a manager that burgers/fries were served until 3:30AM. So I shared that info with her. Oh, let me ask a manager. Manager comes on. Yes I'm sorry we're just serving breakfast now. I asked if they just implement new rules every night, because that's the impression I'm getting from this McDonald's. She informs me that the kitchen staff there weren't trained on the dinner menu. ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME? Are you telling me that for, potentially, the past couple of hours NO ONE could order a burger & fries?? I then informed the manager that I would be contacting corporate about this because it seems any night I go there, there's a new rule being temporarily implemented that prevents them from being able to fill an order. As soon as she heard I was going to contact corporate she said she had already spoken to her manager and that the issue should be resolved in another week. Wait, are you telling me the owner of this franchise would let his restaurant NOT serve burgers & fries in the early AM because they had no staff that knew how to do it?? It's just bad business. In any event, I won't waste my time going there ever again. I'll gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to go to the McDonald's on the other side of town. This is completely unprofessional and unfair to any customer expecting any franchise to uphold restaurant policies. If you're open 24 hours....BE OPEN. If you serve burger & fries until 3:30AM...DO IT. I'm probably more pissed because I'm now sitting here hungry and I can't cook! LOL DAMNIT! Anyhow, I was thinking of driving to the other McDonald's but by then it was closer to 3:20AM so I'd probably...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to treat our kids for some mcdonalds after their sport activities at Alder community centre. We went through drive thru as it is hard to bring 4 kids into the restaurant. We started to order the two can dine meal on the app and proceeded to order our drinks. After which we were told there was no tea, coffee, soft drinks, juice or fruit splashes. There was only water, milkshakes and smoothies. So I asked if we could substitute the drinks for smoothies as there were no other drinks options for the two can dine or the 3 happy meals we were going to order. The employee said yes that was fine. So we asked our kids what they wanted to drink instead of the fruitopia they wanted and decided on smoothies. So we finally finished our order after about 5-10min after all the changes to the drinks and happy meals. We then were going to drive to the first window to pay for the order and she said, "oh sorry, my manager said I cannot give you smoothies as substitutes and I can only pick water or milk for the kids happy meals. I asked to speak to a manager and a female came on right away. She said I cannot change my drinks and I had to get water or milk for the happy meals. I asked why she couldn't make an exception as I have never been to a mcdonalds that was out of coffee, tea, soft drinks, juice and fruit splashes ALL AT ONCE. She said she couldn't do anything. I asked for her name and her position. She said Michaela and it wasn't my business what type of manager she was. My wife and I were speechless at that response to customers. It wasn't like it was a coffee or single meal, it was 2 meals and 3 happy meals and an exception due to the fact no drink options were available. We told her to cancel our order and we would go to another store. This store manager / owner / management needs to get rid of this employee. If you're in a position of manager, you need to know how to speak to customers, and she spoke to my family very inappropriately. Not to mention that I have to tell our kids that we have to leave because they don't want to accommodate a request which was originally agreed upon. Something should have been posted on the DT before ordering so that customer are aware of a big outage before placing...
Read moreI’ve never been so disappointed with a McDonald’s experience, as I was tonight. After ordering at the drive thru, a simple 20 piece nugget meal with 2 medium fries and nugget happy meal, I was told to wait out front as they were waiting on fresh fries and it would be out momentarily. I waited out front for 15 minutes, while other cars pulled up and left. After finally seeing an employee come out with what looked like my order I asked and was abruptly dismissed. I then proceeded to see the person walk the parking lot for 5 minutes before returning to the restaurant. Turns out it was mine. When I entered the restaurant to complain I was met by an equally dismissive manager named Alyssa? She proceeded to make it sound like it was my fault the employee couldn’t find my truck parked directly in front of the entrance, and when I demanded fresh fries, as mine were clearly cold at this point, the manager rolled her eyes and reluctantly complied with my request like it was such a bother that I get what I paid almost $30 for. I’m disgusted by the way this location is run as this is not the first time I’ve experienced this lack of basic service and order...
