I can't believe I made the same mistake twice! I said I would never order from Friendly Greek in Oshawa ever again, yet somehow, I did. Once again, they sent me a pork souvlaki that was burnt to a crisp. Every piece of meat was literally all charred. What self respecting cook would ever send out such visibly inedible food? When I called to complain, they offered to send me another one and I agreed. Over an hour and a half later I sit here writing this review still waiting for my replacement souvlaki. I am at least hoping to see a refund on my credit card for my purchase. Also, BEWARE! They fill your order online and charge you in your email for the amount of your order. Then, when it arrives, the driver hands you the machine with the amount pre-entered and sitting at the tip screen. As a good customer I gave him a tip and tapped my card. When asked if I wanted a copy of my receipt I said 'yes'. He handed me the machine receipt and the receipt from the restaurant with $6.00 added on by hand. I asked what the $6.00 was, he said it was a delivery charge. Had I known I was paying an additional $6.00 for my order, I certainly would not have given the driver an additional tip. HOW VERY SNEAKY AND DISHONEST Friendly Greek! I do my best to support small, local businesses, but Friendly Greek in Oshawa is a disgrace to the franchise. They serve overcooked, burnt, tasteless food and dishonestly charge their customers. Do not give these crooks your business.

I’m not normally one to write a review, but the experience we had at this restaurant was just ridiculous. They took zero precautions for covid-19 (no cleaning, sanitizing, or social distancing at all). The restaurant was full of customers and staff with customers leaning right over the containers of food at the counter. The debit machine was not cleaned off and the only PPE that was worn was a pair of gloves that were never changed (even after touching the debit machine and the food containers with the same gloves). After we ordered our food and were waiting, they then told us that they completely ran out of rice AND potatoes. They ALSO got our order completely wrong (which we didn’t know about until we got home with our food) AND all of the food was completely burnt. The tzatziki was inedible (the garlic was so strong it burned). The fries were sitting in a puddle of liquid, rendering them to a soggy mush. Would not recommend eating here, especially with all the health concerns going on in the world right now. We definitely will not be eating here again.

09/04 - Today, I bought some lamb chops for my family from this restaurant on doordash and I am beyond upset and disappointed by what I received. As seen in the picture, the lamb chop came raw. Had I been the one to eat it, I wouldn’t be as angered, but it was for my parents. This is incredibly unacceptable. Burnt skewers is one thing, but raw meat? How do you serve your customers raw meat? Food thermometers exist for this exact reason. I’m at sadden that this happened as the rest of the food was decent (chicken skewers) except for the tzatziki that tasted like pure garlic making my tongue and stomach burn! As well as that large chuck of lettuce, no one eats lettuce like that! I have already spoken to doordash that handled the issue well. However, other customers deserve to know what and how this restaurant serves their consumers.

I visited Friendly Greek King St. East location for the first time on Wed. April 18th. around 6:20 pm. First of all.........ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT SAY ITS OVERPRICED, NEED TO TAKE A BEGINNERS COURSE IN ECONOMICS AND/OR PICK ME UP AND WE WILL DRIVE TO ALL THE “DIVES” THAT CAN’T COOK THE FOOD GOOD AND NOT FRESH, AND TO PRICY!!! $5.95 (for a stacked with major items) pork souvlaki on pita is dirt cheap and I’m on a fixed income!! As far as the Cleanliness complaints of here, why don’t y’all grab some cleaning stuff and go clean it or stay away!!! As far as location, You, who don’t like it,go to your fancy location and complain there about the food!!! The other was service well again you probably have personal problems in your life that YOU need to deal with so stay home!!!! People lie on these reviews and are so wanting a free meal lol!!! SO GIVE THE PLACE A BREAK AND STOP YOUR WHINING!!!!!

Now here’s a legitimate critic while there yesterday. While my pork Souvlaki was being grilled (along with many other ones) the grill caught ablaze and the older woman (put her in her 50’s and Greek) BLEW on it to put it out, realizing of course that it made it worse! The owner(??) I guess came over and fixed problem!! But HELLO it’s your breath and spit going on to all the meat, not clean, I did see two pieces put off to side but you’re blowing on all the meats! Given it’s a natural reaction, it should never happen and I’m sure it will not ever happen again!!! MY POINT HERE IS THAT IT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FROM THE PUBLIC EYES ESPECIALLY THESE ONES ON THIS REVIEW!! Now as far as my food goes, I asked the Lord to bless it, and it was the most amazing Souvlaki on pita that I’ve had and this is outside of Greek town on the Danforth!!! SO LETS ALL GET OVER IT AND GO SUPPORT THE BEST GREEK (AND OTHER FOOD) Joint in town and give the place the break that they deserve!!! Ps. Delivery and pick up issues GO PICK IT UP YOURSELF AND STOP BEING LAZY ALSO THE QUEEN THAT WALKED IN AND EXPECTED THE RED CARPET WELL YOU SHOULD BE GLAD YOU WERE ALLOWED IN!!!!! Oh yeah go to EXPENSIVE Portly Piper across the street and GREASY KFC next door plus some other (no customer place at 6:30 pm) five acroos st and a crepes or pancake place? ?? Better yet Tim...

Edited Review: I originally gave this place 5 stars when I first went back with my family last year after COVID. The food was fresh and tasted great. Went with my family last night, and it was just awful. No quality control whatsoever. Both my husband and daughter got sick to their stomach after eating here, I avoided getting sick because I had two bites of my meal and left it. The rice was cold and had no seasoning, it was very stale. You can tell it was leftover rice that they just reheated in the microwave. The fries were not crispy but very greasy. Literally like biting into dirty old oil. I don't think they have changed the oil they use to fry food for years. The beef souvlaki was the worst part. It was burnt and flavourless and I couldn't chew it all, just rubbery and inedible. I left my entire meal and tried to be discreet in telling the guy that works there that the meat was inedible. He said it's the cut of beef, which could be true but why serve that garbage to customers? The meal is $19.99 so not cheap. They don't cook the food properly and it's not consistent. Every so often it's good but the past few times it's been really bad. I will not be going back, gave them multiple chances and it's awful. You'll get better "Greek" food at Jimmy the Greek at the Oshawa Centre. Really disappointing. They're not fooling anyone with the old stale disgusting food they are serving. It's also very dirty in the restaurant. Seats are sticky and the tables are filthy. They don't clean the tables or seats between customers. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Original Review: Haven't been here in a few years and decided to try it out again today. The food was excellent. Very fresh and tasty, the Greek salad was my favourite. The server was so nice. Will be...
