Nathan's Jerk - Unauthentic Caribbean & Mexican — Restaurant in Oshawa

Honestly a DEPRESSING curry goat. I just threw away 90% of this because I could not bare anymore 😭😭! This is my first time ever eating there and my last genuinely tastes like hospital food. I only went because Sunrise was closed! If you’re really Jamaican you know Sunrise is not known as the peak Jamaican food restaurant, but I have to say it, Sunrise’s curry goat is culinary perfection in comparison 😫. I am so upset because it genuinely doesn’t even seem like they TRIED at all. This has got to be some of the most bland curry goat I have had in a very long time if not ever. Very very unseasoned. Even the rice was horrible. How do you mess up rice? I thought maybe they overboiled it, until I saw another review that hit the nail on the head as to why it tastes so off. These people are just microwaving premade frozen food and selling it for about $20 a pop. Honestly would not be surprised if the rice was uncle ben’s or something because I promise you this rice tastes very very weird and fake and like nothing else I have ever had in my Jamaican life and if you’re Jamaican you know we eat nuff rice. Hell we microwave rice too but this rice is just bad in a completely foreign unforgivable way to me! It is crazy to me there is a review from months ago calling them out for doing this and they are STILL doing the same thing. Smh. These must not be Jamaicans who own this place OR their customer base must not be because if I didn’t get this from uber eats I woulda cussed them out because this is insulting. It was my first time ordering from this restaurant on Doordash. I ordered the large curry goat, spicy coleslaw, and 1 patty. I was horrified when I opened the container of the curry goat and the taste was even more horrendous. The rice was soooooo overboiled. As you can see in the photo the grains of rice were large and very mushy, similar to rice pudding. The spicy coleslaw must have been sitting for 10 years because it was SOGGY. The curry goat was hard as a rock, not tender at all. I decided to try the patty thinking, "who could mess up a patty?"... I was WRONG. The patty was extremely stale and tasted like the boxed microwavable patties you find in the grocery store. This restaurant needs to permanently close down. I read the reviews before ordering and decided to still give them a try... DON'T. You will waste your money just like me! I was not given a refund. In fact, when I called the restaurant to tell them about my experience I also received attitude from the staff similarly to another reviewer. They most likely pay for positive reviews because every negative review was similar to mine. Please save your money, this is not authentic Carribean or Jamaican cuisine. I have not personally tried the food at this restaurant so I'm not going to give a low star rating to negatively impact their score however I am writing this review hoping that the owner will see it.

I discovered this restaurant while scrolling through Uber Eats and I was actually excited to try it because it is a Caribbean restaurant in Oshawa. They are listed as a Caribbean restaurant on ubereats, on Google when I look at the images of their store their logo says they are a Caribbean restaurant however when I read the comment section, and customers are complaining that they do not like the food the owner argues with them and says that it's Mexican Fusion when nowhere in their advertising does it state Mexican Fusion.

Seeing the owner argue with people on their review page just turned me off from trying this restaurant all together. It is highly unprofessional and I'm sure I'm not the only person who sees this and has decided not to try your food. You should take constructive criticism and improve your restaurant rather than argue with...
