Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Oshawa

The service is non existent guys, not because they are blatantly rude but because their interaction with customers is very to the point. You go in and when you order you find an emotionless person, without any smile take your order. You order, you pay, you wait and get your order and leave. I mean it's not a sit in restaurant. However that shouldn't stop you from asking the customers, how are you or have a smile on your face regardless of how busy You are. It will do and the customers a lot of good. Language and culture could be an issue for the lack of interaction. However, just dive in swim guys with the sole objective of making a guest feel warm and welcome. This current way doesn't make one feel welcome. Lot of people might disagree with me since it's just a small walk in joint. However for yours and for the business's sake, I think it will be good to make guests feel warm and welcome.

Recently I ordered a veggie platter (my girlfriend ordered it. I think she customised the order for her taste and liking and they were kind enough to do that) and a chicken shawarma platter. It was a telephone order and I went to pick it up. But I had ordered multiple times before this where I just walked in and ordered my grub. The food is tasty and I like it. Don't order very spicy as it will take away the taste of the food or your ability to enjoy it. Go with mild or hesitantly medium. My Gf thought her rice was stale. But I never tasted it and I didn't find my rice was stale and I enjoyed my ckhn shawarma platter. I think the wraps would be a good choice to order than the platter. But that is just my personal view. Please try both the wraps and platter and come to the conclusion myself. Overall a good place to order food from. The place looks very clean but then it's also brand new and due to COVID the traffic is probably not as much as pre COVID times. Glad it's attached to the student resident. If it was possible to give zero stars I would have given that. This is my second review because there is no option to delete the previous review I have written. 6 months ago they gave me a bad service and I gave them bad rating so when next time I went there the employee apologized and offered me a free coke and asked me to change the review. Since it was the first time and I felt bad so I came home and changed the review. You can see my review down with same name. Sadly I cannot delete it or else I would have deleted it. Today I went to buy falafel wrap, I said to the girl Hi, how are you? There was no response. I gave my order and for some weird reason their machine was not accepting my card. I tried thrice. One Punjabi guy in turban he interfered and was very rude. When I was waiting for my order, that same woman employee called me "sir" just because I have a buzz cut. I told her I am a woman and not a man but she did not acknowledge the fact. Other employees obviously heard the conversation and one guy along with the turban were evidently talking about me and laughing in front my face. They both prepare food. I was also given the food very rudely. There can be two possibilities, either the management of this place is screwed up or the employees don't like me for some reason and I hardly go there. You should teach your employees to not judge someone's gender by their appearance you can just say "excuse me". I feel sad when I see few Indians acting so privileged and rudely with other Indians, makes me wonder if they do the same with Canadians. There is no empathy and compassion in this store and it is not at all welcoming. Now even if you offer me free food for whole my life I am not going to take down...

The best, nice staff, super delicious food, ample quantity.

I had my first Osmows 6 years back from York university osmows, they do it great. This location Oshawa north, University studio do it the best. I have tried osmows all around GTA, peel, Kitchener, Cambridge, Scarborough, Whitby, still this store is the best, sometimes I get upset as I visit this place like thrice in a week. There are days, I felt bad for long wait time, some staff's hesitation to fill the box with enough food. But overall definitely the best Osmows ever.

When my friends travel from west, no one need cooked food, all need Osmows.

*Old review Not sure what happened recently, I am regular customer for last 2 years, but very recently the employee behavior has greatly changed. People were nice but not now. They had some love on the food they made, but it's lost, I can feel that in the food quality too. I had 3 bad experiencee in 2 weeks. So no more osmows from this store. Tried rocks twice and poutine all failed. I am disappointed with employee attitudes. Feeling sad to lose a good store but I have to. Food is all about a feeling.

Old review. Pretty good. If you like Osmow's, you probably know,not all stores make good food. This place is nice, friendly staff and great food. Always great food, good quantity and quality. They cook with love. Again good work dears, got poutine today. Was awesome.
