In a profound error of judgement, my sister and I ordered lunch from Sekodun today. We ordered: Fried yam, plantain, stew, suya and asun. Fried yam: rigid and oil soaked. Looked like it had been frozen and refried several times. Plantain: disfigured and alternated between oil soaked and aged. Stew: pool of oil with a suspicious looking black lump in the middle. At the bottom of the bowl an inch of tomato to justify the name “stew”. Overall I don’t know what this was. Suya: dried out flakes of aged beef that tasted like rubber seasoned with suya spice. Asun: this was the most laughable. What they sent was definitely NOT asun. Tasted like beef that had spoilt, been reboiled and then fried in tiny tomato. NEVER AGAIN. Terrible food.

The food is generally good, but I expect consistency in what I’m paying for. The first time I ordered, I received a generous amount of soup, but the second time, there was barely any soup or meat in the bowl. I wasn't about to make a 20-minute drive back to address that. Additionally, the service could be improved. Despite confirming my order and being told it was ready for pickup, I still had to wait an extra 20-30 minutes when I arrived. Also, the space is quite small, not suitable for dining in.

I visit this restaurant often, and it’s easily one of the top Nigerian restaurants around. The meals are always fresh, the servings are generous, and the flavors are truly authentic. My favorite order is the jollof rice with turkey and dodo — it never disappoints. Plus, their prices beat many other spots, so you get great value. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for genuine Nigerian food.

Very rude. I was here to pickup an Uber order. I entered and while requesting for the order a lady behind the counter went off " hello hellooo helloooo" loudly to get my attention. At first I thought she was talking to someone else behind the counter, there were 4 of them! And when I did realize it was about closing the door behind me!! First, doors usually have mechanisms to close automatically and second I was there for about a total of 30 seconds. I don't want to point in that direction, but may be because of me looking like belonging to a specific community (I have a beard) could have been the cause of the hostility.

PS: I have mentioned enough context in my review for it to be out of context. It is rude to shout "Helloooo" in someone's face, that too to have them close the door, which is usually expected to...

I have had the privilege of eating Sekodun’s food for over 8years now and I have not had a single regret. From the taste of her food, to her service delivery, it’s all top notch!

I live in Hamilton Ontario and I have to drive almost 2hours to get Sekodun’s food despite all the caterers we have in Hamilton.

From her signature jollof rice to her stew, efo riro, Ayamase, Ogbonna, Egusi, just name it…so far for me, no other caterer compares! I will give Sekodun 5 stars over and over for her consistency over the years! It’s her food or none for me!

Thank you Sekodun, God...
