This Subway restaurant owner needs to learn just how important customer service still is to people in this neighborhood . I was recently in Subway. Long story short I ordered 4 subs and 2 were the meal with chips and a drink. When I turned to get ice tea from the soda machine it was out of order. I asked the girl if she could substitute for a bottle and I would pay the difference. She informed me that I had "ruined" a cup and my transaction was completed so she would be charging me full price.In her defense she said she didn't make the rules but needs to learn some customer relations. In addition there was a lineup of people that were obviously inpatient and a young man with a big mouth who started yelling at me that I should have looked at the soda machine before I placed my order. In the end I gave her the cup back and said my family and I would in the future be taking our business down the street to Mr. Sub. I was humiliated in a neighbourhood that I have owned a house for 16 years. We have always gone to Subway but this will be my last visit to any location.
Business need to start to remember , the best form of advertising if word of mouth. But this also works the opposite when customer service is least important to a business.This was obvious when the girl stated that my transaction was completed.
In addition, since talking to someone that worked there. I have something to add to the previous post. I was surprised when she said that the owner video tapes the staff and watches them at home. He would then call the store and yell at the staff. I guess this explains the rude young lady behind the counter that I experienced.
In closing I would like to add that I have sent an email to Subway head office. However in sending it I noticed that they send them out to the individual stores. I have always been treated well but this other older lady Erin treated and talked to me in a condencending way like a child & said she worked there for 20 years. This is all because I asked her a simple question about the coupons question.
