While in Ottawa for a conference, I decided to venture beyond the usual spots and try something new. On a recommendation, I found myself at Fattoush Lady, a small eatery within walking distance of the convention center.
The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, a thoughtful feature for those with mobility challenges. Inside, the space is compact but inviting, with bright lighting and unique decor that catches your eye without feeling overdone. It’s clear that most customers opt for takeout, as seating is quite limited, and all meals are packed to go by default.
The menu is concise, but that’s part of its charm—they focus on doing a few things exceptionally well. I ordered a single dish, and it was outstanding. The freshness of the ingredients and the balance of flavors were remarkable, turning something simple into something memorable.
Service was polite and quick, and the pricing was very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality of the food. While the presentation of the meal may not immediately impress, the taste certainly will.
Fattoush Lady left a strong impression, and I’ll absolutely return during my next trip to Ottawa. This is the kind of place where one great dish is all you need to know you’ve made the...

Very little pita made it into the salad itself but at least one was provided in the side.
We were also ready to pay and waiting and someone else who seemed like a regular just skipped to the front of the line and paid ahead of us even though our food was sitting there ready and we were waiting.
Overall not particularly impressed, the food was fine but...

I'm so glad I did! I had it with their Spicy garlic sauce and with some sesame sauce for the beef. It was incredibly tasty and juicy; and all the ingredients were super fresh; you can tell they care about quality.
Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving some delicious and satisfying...
