A&W, in a pinch, is such a go to for our family

GOOD POINTS: . The drive-thru wasn't busy at all . The food was hot and fresh . The attendee at the window was fast and courteous

OBSERVATIONS: . The parking lot here is very poorly mapped out and confusing . The drive-thru area needs a good cleaning on the outside

SUGGESTIONS: . The drive-thru attendant, although friendly and fast, just shut the window before I could thank them and respond; just handed me the bag with friendly salutation, however, closed the window in my face before I could wish them a good day back. (I understand if it was busy, but there was nobody else in the drive-thru and it sends a dismissive signal to the customer). Slowing down and waiting for a response, may have had a positive affect on the individual, since I had a two dollar coin in my hand and was reaching out to tip him for his swift and friendly service. Sadly, he walked away from the window immediately, and didn't see me waving. Not really and big deal, but I would have liked him to have...

I love A&W, but I was driving by this location and wow what an utter disappointment.

First of and most importantly, cleanliness and hygiene is a major issue. The person who just used the cash register went on to touch fries with his bare hands no gloves, no hand washing. All the food was managed without care for contamination and basic hygiene. The condiments table had fruit flies lingering. The place is understaffed and I shudder to think what else hasn't been washed/mishandled.

Service is appalling. I waited almost 10 minutes to even get an acknowledgement from the cashier who was right there at the counter. A simple "I will be right with you" would've worked. It was odd because I was directly in front of him and it didn't matter at all. Once he finally decided to pay attention, he just came across as someone with a lot of attitude, who was being forced to serve you.

I hope this review is taken as constructive criticism because everyone loves A&W and attention to those basic elements would make this particular...

From my experience, probably the worst fast food joint in the west end. You're much better off heading to McDonald's down the road.

Went mid-day, around lunch time on a weekday, I was the only car that went through the drive thru. Ordered a fairly standard burger combo with onion rings and a soft drink.

The price was the first thing that caught me. Several dollars more than you'd usually pay for a similar combo at Wendy's or McDonald's or Harvey's.

What made it really regrettable was that the burger was really nothing special. You'll get better at other fast food joints. To make things worse, staff clearly weren't checking on the soft drink syrup levels, as my drink was almost entirely water. Finally, the onion rings were clearly fried quite some time ago and served cold, as they had no warmth to them, even as I took a bite of it less than a minute after receiving it.
