On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, I went with my family to A&W located at Greenbank & Highbury, 30 Highbury Park Dr, Nepean, ON K2J 6K8, to have dinner at about 4:45 pm.
We ordered our meals, including a Papa Burger meal with fries. However, when I received my order, the fries were missing. When I informed the cashier, she mentioned that she had not punched it in as a meal and that I could purchase the fries separately. I explained that I had ordered a meal and did not want to pay for the items separately. She then summoned a man who identified himself as the manager. She spoke with him, and despite my attempts to talk, he did not acknowledge me. Once they finished, he asked me to pay for the fries. He did not apologize for the error and offered me the fries separately. I replied that I wanted to pay the difference since it is cheaper with the meal. He responded, "Then you will not get the fries."
I was shocked. In my 30-year relationship with my favorite burger place, A&W, I had never been humiliated like this. I refused to buy the fries but was very upset.
People go out to have a good time, not to have an experience that ruins the rest of their day. That man/manager was so rude.
As for the atmosphere the sun was piercing out eyes and there were no blinds on the windows.
Terrible experience at this branch. It ruined my day. I had to eat my meal without fries, not because of the price but as a matter of principle. Four dollars extra will not make a difference when you spend about...
Read moreWe have tried this A&W a few times and something goes wrong every time.... most recently, I ordered two of the 2 for 1 jalapeño lime beyond burger deal. One pair had none of the jalapeño lime sauce, the other pair did.
The order was read to me twice stating that it was two regular beyond burgers and two jalapeño lime burgers. To me that meant that two had no sauce and two had the new sauce. But no, when I got home, the two jalapeño lime burgers had no sauce. I was also not given a receipt at the drive through window.
I called to see if they would be able to fix the order for me but the supervisor would not help me at all and said it was my fault because the order read Jalapeño lime burger with JUST lettuce, pickles, and onion. Which apparently meant there was no sauce on the two burgers. I never saw a receipt to confirm this. Why would I order two regular beyond burger and two jalapeño lime beyond burgers if I didn't want the sauce that made them jalapeño lime burgers? I would have just ordered 4 regular beyond burgers....
Other times we have gone to this location, the line has been extremely long and it took 20-25 minutes to get our order.
