I never ever write reviews but I was so blown away by today's breakfast experience that I just had to .... For the past week, I have eaten breakfast at Coras, Allo, Casino De Hull, Gabriel and then today because I was in a rush, decided to hit up a fast food restaurant, which incidentally, A&W on Gibford Drive. To be fair, I was NOT expecting anything spectacular as I am used to Restaurants known for their high quality service, food, comfortable and personalized booth like lounges. However, I was completely blown away first by the service of the cashier, Davenee, she had a line up starting to come in and yet still managed to maintain her extroverted personality, smile and personalized service with her full attention focused on me without making me feel pressured to complete my order, in fact, realizing that I am unfamiliar with their menu, she even took the time explaining that I can have my eggs any style I like, scrambled, fried etc then as I completed my order, I was surprised by a fast food restaurant offering me to have a seat wherever if I like and will personally bring my breakfast out to my table? Davenee asked me if I wanted coffee right now or when breakfast is ready which will also be from the next brewed set as well as informing me that their coffee is of free trade organic and they offer FREE refills as well !! Breakfast was ready and she delivered to my table with the help of her colleague, both of which maintained their extroverted composure irregardless of the line up now starting to accumulate served with Everything I need (condiments) all within 5 minutes !
To my surprise, the complete breakfast: eggs, sausages, bacon, hash Browns, toast were all cooked to perfection that if I was blind folded, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference from a Restaurant mentioned above or A&W, that's how good their breakfast is !!
The best part is the PRICE DIFFERENCE, I'm used to paying approximately $35.00 tip included ...
At A&W, there was no TIP option and even with the free refill, my total bill was UNDER $15.00 !!!
A&W just took over and will dominate the whole breakfast industry with service that I must say is way better than some of the Restaurants mentioned above. I definitely recommend A&W for breakfast and most definitely would have given Davenee the same if not more of a tip than the other places, especially addressing my pet peeve of always having to flag a waiter/waitress down for more coffee, Davenee was always right there ready willing and happy to give me another coffee the second I needed it .... Free of Charge ...
A&W is Definitely a...
Read moreNov 12th 2017 8am I stopped for a Classic BK which is two eggs bacon and toast. I asked the girl on cash that instead of breaking eggs on a grill to cook them over easy or whatever I just wanted two eggs which are used on an egg muffin. She said she could not do such a thing I said it has been done many times for me in the past to which she said I should never have gotten my way ... God forbid that a customer get his meal the way he wants. I was the first there in line when they opened and there was no one behind me but miss anal refused to use ( I call em poached eggs) the poached eggs I requested as I asked her an egg is an egg what difference does it make which I get. I went down to Merivale near hunt club and asked for the same BK with poached eggs to which I was told by all means and they were friggin busy. I would urge Miss Anal at Bayshore to easy up a bit as its just two eggs which I like poached.
Update 23 Jan 2018 I decided to try this location again since Miss Anal was not around. Surprise the the young fellow who took my order for the classic breakfast changed the fried eggs for two poached eggs something Miss Anal could have done but God forbid the customer get what they want. If the eggs used to make poached eggs were more expensive than just reg fried eggs I could understand but as I said before an egg is an egg all the same. This gal get a refresher course in customer...
Read moreSuper disappointed in the food quality. I ordered a chicken sandwich yesterday, and I went to take the burger out of the bag, and before I even touched it, something looked wrong. It had spots on it. I took it out of the bag and really inspected it. Mold. All over the bun. It wasn't just a spot, the entire bun was polka dotted with mold. The girl working the front was nice enough to have a new one made for me, but that's not the point here. The point is that the mold was CLEARLY visible all over the bun. Whoever was working the grill should have noticed that. The excuse I got was someone had changed the date tags on the bag of buns, as they were due to be discarded the day before. I work in food service, so I understand one person cannot be responsible for everything, but discarding products on the correct date is essential. Mold is nothing to play around with. Had I bitten into that bun, I could have gotten seriously ill. If ANYONE had bitten into that, they would become seriously ill. Food safety is of the utmost importance in the food service industry....
