A little confusing with the Churchill location being shut but it’s the same number you call to the Alta vista location.
OTHERWISE unreal Indian food. I honestly was blown away. I haven’t had such absolutely delish curry in Canada probably ever.
These people saying portions were small are stupid. You’re meant to order rice or naan with your meal. I unfortunately ate my whole portion of palak paneer with some rice and a naan which was a very bad move on my part as I was in a food coma for hours afterward but I honestly couldn’t leave a speck of that deliciousness behind uneaten.
The garlic naan was so fresh and soft and absolutely massive! It was amazing. We ordered onion bahji and they came in a way ive never seen them not in ball shapes but in pieces which were fantastic and even better for sharing. My friends had butter chicken and chicken tikka and they felt the same as I do. My husband and I are only in Ottawa for a short time but I will be making every effort to find the opportunity to order from Aahar again during this...
Read moreThe food was phenomenal but if you are going to dine in, go early. Twice now we've been rushed out the door. We got there at about 7:30 and there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant, were told right away they closed at 8:45. We were asked to order our appetizers at the same time as our meal because the kitchen would be closing. When the waitress checked to see if everything was OK she asked if there was anything else or she would just bring the bill. Next we were given take out containers to pack up in before we were done eating and again told they would be closing at 8:45 while we still had some of our drinks left we were told they were closing and would need to leave. The staff walked out the door with us. I've worked in a few restaurants and I've never rushed a table like this. Usually a kitchen wants your order in before 9 because they are closing but not the dining room. As much as we enjoyed the food perhaps take out is best or go very early in...
Read moreWe used to love coming to Aahar on Alta Vista, but tonight was the worst experience ever - it took ages for our order to be taken, and over an hour before food came to the table from when we came in. Even then, the individual orders were not delivered in a timely way.... our appetizers were staggered, the pappadam was burnt, some items were cold, our mains came without the rice, etc. The staff didn't remove items we were finished with from the table (menus, appetizer dishes), we had to do our own clearing. Even the quality of the food was not the standard we had become accustomed to. It was very very disappointing from start to finish. Meanwhile, the whole time we were there, online orders were moving quickly from the kitchen to the door. People IN the restaurant should take priority. We shared our dismay with the staff, but they did not acknowledge the problems. We probably won't be back, which is a shame because we have always enjoyed...
