This is hands down the #1 pizza spot in Ottawa. I have been coming here for over 15 years old, since I was just a kid & would go to the boys&girls club across. This place has pizza that tastes different than anywhere else, they dont make their pizzas too thick but just the perfect amount of dough so you can still taste all the ingredients. The service has always been great & still lives up to the name over the many years of business. My favourite thing to eat there is their Poutine Pizza. I know it sounds weird I was hesitant at first but now it’s my go too every time. Definitely recommend this place of you're a pizza or food lover in general.

I just brought home a large half pepperoni, half combination with extra cheese and it was delicious. I used to be a fan of Gabriel's back in their glory days before they expanded but they've lost quality control due to franchising and not what it used to be. Barney's is quality pizza at a much better price point. Natural ingredients, flavorful sauce and I don't break the bank for adding extra cheese. Very down to earth staff btw. It's located in a low income neighborhood and I"m thinking their great prices are strategic to make the food affordable for the locals. If that's the case, good on them and good business practice.

I have been getting pizzas from here since 2011! Great service and delicious pizzas. The order is never done wrong, the prices are reasonable and affordable. The employees are great and they offer a good customer service. I remember seeing someone complaining that one slice only was "burnt" when it clearly was not, but the employee decided to make him a new one anyway. They have a good selection of drinks and sweets too. One thing to mention, it is not an environment for families. The neighborhood is not the best. It is however great for dining in with friends or pick ups.

Let me start off with this, Barney's Pizza and their staff are amazing. They're a hard-working family business, and I've been going to them for over 15 years. They've always been my source of Sunday cheat days with pizza that was as good as Willy's and others known for high quality (and high price), but Barney's was able to match the quality for a smaller price. However, I can't say it's worth it anymore. The pizza quality dropped after 2020, and prices went up but were modest and manageable. XL 3 topping walk-in went from 15.99 to $18.99 in 2021. No biggie, that's manageable. However, when I went in yesterday, I was flabbergasted to see the price for a walk-in special XL-Pizza had jumped from $18.99 to $24.50! Was so surprised by the increase that I just walked out and went to Gaberials. That price with tax is way too high and puts it close to many competitors. With the quality drop in the pizza paired with the massive recent price increase, it's hard to justify going to Barney's anymore, which is a shame to say...

I really hope Barney's finds a way to reduce their walk-in specials or improve the quality for the price because, at this point, it makes no sense to go there when I can pay a few dollars more at Willy's for arguably the best pizza in Ottawa. Best wishes to you all, but I can't resume patronage until the prices come down :(

EDIT 10/11/2024: Well, as if I thought it couldn't have gotten any worse! They NO LONGER offer a walk in special 3 topping anymore. I was told that on the phone, prices start at around $20 for an XL, and every topping you add is $3 each. So now, to get the same 3 topping pizza that I was getting for over a decade, instead of the already outrageous price of $24.50, it's now $29 plus tax (around $33 total). That's boardering Willy's prices. I'm gonna be blunt; Barney's needs to be put in its place. You're charging premium prices for mid-tier pizza. It's better than Pizza Pizza or Domino's, but not better than Willy's or even Gaberials. I thought I'd give you another chance a month or 2 later, but you continue to disappoint further. YOU'RE LOCATED IN A STATICALLY DISENFRANCHISED COMMUNITY. You need to remember these people are your primary customers, and you're pricing a lot of people (especially kids) out of decent mid-tier pizza in their own community. At this point, I not only can't continue recommending you guys, but now I'm gonna suggest people vote with their wallet and not do business with you. If you're gonna pay a premium amount money for a pizza, just go down Richmond to Willy's to get premium...

I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and their pizza has always been phenomenal. It’s a local, family-owned restaurant, and you feel the love in their food.

Their pizza stands out for me as the best in the city, so much so, I base every other pizza I eat off of this one, really my 10/10. In 16 years, you’d think someone would be able to come up with one negative thing, but there’s literally nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

A couple of my favourite pizza’s are

Poutine pizza - this pizza can feel glutenous, but who gets pizza as a healthy option. The cheese, gravy-base, and the fries under the cheese will make you ask yourself why you haven’t come across this place before.

Barbecue-based, extra cheese, chicken pizza. The last pizza was savoury and glorious, but this one is sweet, tangy, and acidic, so it cuts the fat of the cheese. You get a magnificent cheese pull that isn’t easily recreated.

Support local, and support this business, they deserve so much more...

This is one of the worst "restaurants" that I have ever been too!! My wife grew up in Ramsey so she went to Barney's all the time. She loved the place and finally convinced me to get dinner from there one night. I got the spaghetti and she got a turkey club, both were inedible. The spaghetti was like that from a can but with some disgusting spice that should NEVER be used in Italian cuisine and the club sub that my wife ordered was rancid and raw. The bacon that was on the sub was chewy and half raw. Thinking that this was the cause of the disgusting taste, we scraped it off and tried it without the raw bacon, big mistake! Now without the raw bacon, we could taste the rancid turkey in it's entirety. We both got sick as dogs from it (food poisoning confirmed by Dr.) and we stayed sick for just over a week. I have had food poisoning from other restaurants before but NOTHING comes close to Barney's. I highly recommend that you do no try it unless you want to be on the toilet for...
