The owner is a Jka. I have never, never been treated so poorly as I have at this bar/grill. Yes the owner doesn't care about anything, service, quality of food nor respecting the posted close times.. The 'morning' waitress seems to want to be creative with the charges for food. One time I was charged $2.09 for one one! slice of toast. I have frequented the establishment several times, always getting above board service and food. But today, the 21st of September, 2016 was the worst. experience I have ever had dining out. The 'morning' waitress lost her cool because another patron and I were discussing her creative accounting. All of a sudden, she rushes over, grabs our bills, claims she's going to pay them, crumples up my bill and then informs us we have been barred for life!. Needless to say both of us patrons, exclaimed outrage at the treatment of the staff towards us. We did raise our voices at this time.
The bouncer told us 'what's your problem, she has agreed to pay your bills', the problem was that we were both as I said barred for life, the bouncer (can you imagine a bouncer needed for breakfast!?) looked at me, did the twirling of his hand to suggest the old and out of date circular movement for 'crazy' then proceeded to tell me I was drunk!
I for one will be very glad when Busters bar and Grill will no longer be a watering/ dining hole. When they remodel Lincoln Fields as I understand they will, Busters must not be allowed to return. What a loser owner, what a dimwit waitress., what a living in the past bouncer. Pfft, BEWARE, if you are into backward control freak people. Hurry up RioCan get rid of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in for an advertised ādinner and showā special. Reserved 3 days in advance. Mind you, the charge was 80$ for 2 people, plus hst, plus 20% gratuity. The food advertised in the special was a chicken and rib dinner. It was served by what appeared to be a cook (not our waiter, who was great). When it arrived, it looked sloppy. Basically a small piece of breaded chicken, just totally covered in gravy, with a small portion of ribs (mostly fat, also covered in sauce), and a small bowl of fried beans. No vegetables, no sides.. when asked if it came with vegetables, he just pointed to the beans and said āthatās a vegetableā, and walked away. Our server basically only did drinks, and although was only his 3rd week working there, was absolutely amazing! An old fashioned was even served just filled with tiny ice cubes, and was watered down substantially by the time it got to the table. I even asked him about the 20% gratuity we prepaid for, hoping it would go to the server. He asked management, and came back to say: it all went to management. So basically forced to pay 20% tip, for the manager, only to get a really terrible meal. There werenāt a lot of people for the show, and it seems they blocked off half the restaurant with a divider, so the folks who didnāt pay an extra 10$ to see the show, couldnāt, but could hear it. I felt this was really odd.
The restaurant itself has a very cafeteria-ish feel, with high ceilings, bright lighting, and cheap feeling tables laid out like youād expect at a cafeteria.
But the band was good, and the waiter was the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited this restaurant for a family birthday breakfast celebration, and I regret to say the experience was disappointing on multiple levels.
First, the value for money was extremely poor. The children's meals were priced at $11.49 each, which would be acceptable if the portions were reasonable and included a beverage. However, neither was the case. The Belgian waffle my children ordered was notably small and came with absolutely no accompaniments ā no fruit, no whipped cream, nothing to justify the steep price point.
When we raised our concerns about the portion size with the staff, their response was particularly disappointing. Instead of trying to find a solution or showing any understanding, they simply stated we would need to pay another full $11.49 for an additional portion. This rigid and unhelpful approach to customer service was frustrating.
What made the experience even more unpleasant was the staff's apparent attitude toward our group. As we were there celebrating a family birthday with children, we couldn't help but notice the server's unfriendly demeanor and obvious discomfort with having children in the restaurant. This made what should have been a joyful family celebration feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
Bottom line: Between the overpriced, undersized portions, lack of included beverages, poor value for money, and unwelcoming service, we cannot recommend this establishment. There are many other family-friendly breakfast spots that offer better value and service. We will not...
