Cozmoz Souvlaki on Greenbank is hands down one of the best spots for Greek food in Ottawa. Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality, freshness, and incredible flavors they serve up.
The food is always made to order, and you can really taste the difference. The souvlaki is perfectly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection, with that amazing char you expect from authentic Greek cooking. The pita is fresh and fluffy, and the tzatziki is some of the best I’ve ever had — creamy, garlicky, and super refreshing.
Portions are generous without sacrificing quality. Everything tastes homemade, from the tender meats to the perfectly crisp fries and fresh Greek salad. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put real care into every dish.
On top of the amazing food, the service here is top-notch. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and happy to offer recommendations if you’re not sure what to order. They genuinely care about making sure you have a great experience, which makes every visit even better.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, a takeout dinner, or sitting down for a meal, Cozmoz Souvlaki never disappoints. It’s consistently delicious, clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.
If you love Greek food — or even if you’ve never tried it before — do yourself a favor and visit Cozmoz Souvlaki. Once you go, you’ll definitely keep coming back. A...
Read moreI've got things that need to be said about this place. This is hands down the absolute BEST Greek place in ottawa. You go there, you order the 3 meat Gyro, you eat it, and then you sit there in silence. Why do you sit in silence? Because you just heard the voice of God with every bite you took, and now you can't find the words to speak. And before you accuse me of blasphemy, understand two things;
When Jesus comes back He's fighting the antichrist Once He's done that He's going to Cozmos Souvlaki to have a 3 meat Gyro wrap with garlic potatoes
And that's just the food, let's talk about the staff. The staff are some of the nicest people I've ever met in the food industry. And why? Because, unless you're a German paratrooper jumping into Crete in 1941, Greeks are some of the nicest people in the world. "But how nice can they be?" you ask yourself. Well let me answer that for you. I live on the other side of barrhaven, I will drag myself through tornadoes and blizzards just to experience the customer service they give here.
But there's always a downside, and I have to call this one out. When you pay with a card it doesn't give you the option to tip, and as someone who doesn't always have cash I always leave feeling a little guilty. That's how good this place is, I feel bad that I'm saving money! In this economy!!
So yeah, pretty good, get...
Read moreMy regular go to Greek restaurant was closed on Mondays, so I took the opportunity to try Cozmos. My order consisted of a family platter for 4, a total of 14 lamb sticks, 4 beef sticks, hummus, spanakopita and calamari appetizers.
There was a lot of good in this order. There was plenty of food for 7 people with leftovers. The potatoes were the best I have had in any local Greek takeout. The calamari remained crispy from pickup to dinner table (~15 min). The beef was well seasoned, tender and juicy.
The lamb sticks, the main star, I am not sure what happened here. They were completely unseasoned, not even with salt. Dry and the absolute opposite from the beef. I wish I had ordered just the beef. Very disappointing, as I am sure this was an oversight considering the number of positive reviews. The cucumbers, tomatoes in the village salad were cut too small for my liking (less than a 1 cm x 1 cm). This results in a lot of wetness and the loss of crispiness in the vegetables.
The lamb mistake was a costly oversight on my dime, and the salad was not to my preference so I will not be ordering...
