I only gave 3 stars because they have this serving robot that… is a problem. It might be fine when the place is not busy but I seen it almost collide with servers, stopping people from going to the washroom and randomly pausing and stopping in the middle of high traffic walkways. This is a serious safety hazard and a terrible use of money that can be instead, reinvested strategically into the restaurant.
The owner’s haven’t studied Japanese restaurants and how to use automation correctly. They haven’t thought about their problems, frankly it’s childish and stupid and the truth is, I don’t think anyone will miss it if it goes. I think whoever decided to get this serving robot, fell for a scam and it needs to be said.
I looked up this serving robot, it costs at least $20k CAD not including all the maintenance fees and down time. I bet you they lose more money keeping this robot working than hiring more people or giving bonuses to their wonderful staff. They will never admit this because they probably hide the true costs of robot.
For the record, I work in tech and I am not anti-automation or robotics. I am however… “anti-stupid solutions for problems that don’t exist” which is why I am writing this review. The truth has to be said.
