Frankie's Nashville Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Ottawa

Geez, where do I start. My wife and I ordered some food from this location because we’ve been missing any kind of southern bbq food. What we got instead sad to say was nasty and flavourless. The first problem is when I got to the location it said on GoogleMaps, there was a Lonestar restaurant there which was wildly confusing. No other signs outside or anything else indicating Frankie’s is inside the Lonestar. So naturally I drive around like an idiot searching for this place that I was convinced wasn’t in business anymore. After wasting about 20mins looking, my wife calls and tells me to check inside the Lonestar and sure enough it’s in there. I go inside and there is still nothing to let me know I’m in the right place but some oddly placed Frankie’s brochures on the counter. I stood in the line for 20mins watching people get frustrated with the restaurant’s nonexistent customer service and leave. No one from the back was saying anything. No, we’ll be with you in a moment, no, asking if anyone needed anything, nothing. Finally, someone comes out and I watch this guy who isn’t wearing any gloves go elbow deep in bags checking everyone’s orders. I finally get the food and bring it home and it was disappointingly cold and tasteless.

Between the frustration of finding the place, the nonexistent customer service and the tasteless food that gave me a wicked all night long stomach ache. This food is no where near worth your hard earned money. I’ll just cook...

So two things, the food, the food itself was great and comparable to comparable food I had in Nashville itself, remember this isn’t “bbq” it’s Nashville hot chicken, much like Cajun, has a nice kick, quality was great etc, I know some people will say “bbq” but it’s not bbq, if you had Cajun, which is usually more dry sauce/spice, this is a slight vet, but not bbq dripping, so they’ve nailed my prior experiences. Chicken was good and not dry, again food itself was awesome

The margaritas are really good (remember to mix before drinking for flavour shots).

UPDATE: ordered for the second time and I was received the wrong order. I ordered a Jalapeño popper sandwich but received a regular Nashville chicken sandwich plus 6 pieces of strips plus fries plus a pop can.
