It's ok. The biggest issue right off the bat is the staff are not organized. I'm sure this will get better with time and I will be back and update my review after they have had some time. They have been open just over a week or so. That being said from the time I placed my order, to the time I received it was 23minutes. There was no coordination or planning with peoples orders. 4 staff there, 1 making pancakes, 1 running the cash, 1 helping top pancakes and the last one walking back and forth but not doing much. We ordered the Blueberry Cheese pancakes, the "FuwaFuwa" latte and a mango soda. The Soda was ok, as was the latte. The pancake has lots of potential. The soufflé pancakes themselves were great. I've had them many times in Tokyo and will use what you would find at a place like "Flippers" for comparison. The pancakes themselves were VERY close to the real deal. Not quite there shape and firmness wise, but that takes a lot of practice and I'm sure they will get it. The very weird part is like I mentioned I ordered a Blueberry and Cheese pancakes. In Japan the "cheese" would normally be a sweetened cream cheese. Almost like a crustless cheesecake. At FuwaFuwa though they used a slice of orange cheddar. Not as bad as a Kraft single, but only slightly better than that. Overall it's a cool new option to Ottawa and I'm sure it will get better with time. I would recommend checking them out, but pick simple items on the menu and plan ahead for your order to take a VERY long time to...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic. I always enjoy Fuwa Fuwa in Toronto and was so excited for them to open one here. I've enjoyed everything I've tried from them. The drinks are great and he pancakes are delicious and very light without being unsubstantial, especially with the toppings and fruit on the side. The strawberry drinks are especially delicious and I find myself craving the matcha strawberry latte a lot. My biggest gripe is that their bananas are not always ripe so order pancakes with bananas at your own risk. I'll admit the price is a bit high (much higher than it was a few years ago) but I understand that eggs (the main ingredient in this style of pancake) are expensive and it's quite labour intensive to get the souffle texture and to decorate them perfectly so I don't mind paying a bit more. Plus I find that that they're the perfect size to share with someone as a dessert.
Also to people who pay for them and then give them a bad review because of the price, my brother in Christ, you saw the price on the menu and ordered them anyway, at some point you need to confront your own expectations of what a...
Read moreI’ve been going to Fuwa Fuwa pretty often in Toronto so it’s exciting to hear they opened in Ottawa! The texture of Fuwa Fuwa was similar, the cream on top was cold but the pancake was warm and soft. I love tiramisu, it stands out the best as a chocolate and coffee lover! I didn’t like the soda since it’s like sprite with fruits on it but the soufflé pancake made up for it! Next time I’ll get the regular size instead of the snack size!!!
The wait time was long but understandable since they need to cook it plus there’s a lot of people ordering since it’s their grand opening. Some people complained about the wait time since it’s either early than they state but you can’t really blame it on them since it’s their opening and their not sure of the time it would take to cook plus unforeseen...
