It was not northern style Pho!!!! We got so excited when we saw the name and we thought we could finally find a place where pho broth could finally be actual beef broth with roasted ginger aroma. But again it’s just another noodle pho place where the broth just smelled really strong of star anise and cinnamon without any beef broth flavor. It was like they boil water and put cinnamon and star anise in without any actual beef bones. And roasted ginger was the signature aroma of Hanoi pho which I couldn’t smell any. :( :( :(
Still on my quest for that authentic northern style pho and too sad this is just another southern style pho restaurant.
Bun cha Hanoi was ordinary, and nowhere near pho Tuan. The pork meatball was weird - it tasted like it was fried rather than grilled, and the inside was still cold. Tasted dry and not flavorful. But if you didn’t have the better option which is pho Tuan, I think it’ll have quench your crave so it’s...
Read moreOnce again I have visited this location strictly based on the food, which was fantastic. We had the Pho noodle soup which is probably my second favourite place to have noodles in Ottawa. However, the establishment is very run down and need some TLC to get it back to state where the facility matches the food. Dining out is a complete experience and providing good food without the full experience still leaves a lot to be desired. The resturant is now showing its age, with aging chairs and ceiling paint that is peeling. Leading you to believe that the possibility of paint chips could potentially fall into your meal. I know the food business is a difficult one to manage the expenses of upkeep with providing quality food. However, one without the other only lends itself to a decline in clientele. Thererfore, until a refreshing of the resturant is forthcoming despite being one of my favourite PHO resturants in Ottawa, I will "phogo" dining...
Read moreWow! This must be the easiest 5 stars I have ever given. Hà Nôi Phô has incredibly kind and humble owners, and the service was fantastic.
The Vietnamese iced coffee was awesome, as it's given to you while it brews above the glass, with condensed milk at the bottom. It is certainly the best coffee I've had in Ottawa, with a perfect balance of strong coffee taste and sweet milk.
I had the vermicelli with chicken (#32) and my friend had the same thing with Vietnamese Pork Sausage (#33). The meat was amazing, and the sweet sauce poured over the vermicelli and salad really made the meal. Shrimp rice rolls with peanut sauce also tasted so good!
Finally, the price is the best. For the price of fast food, you can go to this amazing, authentic Vietnamese restaurant. I will definitely be back soon,...
