Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Ottawa

Attached are photos of the racist worker and the one who yelled at the kids Absolutely disgusting service. We were a party of 30! During the 2 hour pause of a funeral — First off we told the waiter we would like to take our orders per bill to avoid mistakes and a lengthy check out. However she was extremely rude said stop talking and took orders randomly which caused us to take 45 mins to figure out the bills. WE SPECIFICALLY SAT IN SECTIONS TO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE ! Furthermore when I went to pay, a worker was in the back scratching her hair with bare hands touching people’s food talking about other patrons. And said “weird that a black is with a white family” like that’s insane. Why would you ever say something like that ? She also continued and said I hate stupid people that stand right there … however we were told by our waitress to all come up and pay and mind you there’s 30 of us. The service was so terrible and lengthily and they were rude and racist that some of us didn’t tip. The racism and service here is by far the worst. Secondly we were with a 5 year old trying to show us a picture and the waitress tells the little Girl you need to stop talking ??? Shameful

The food was also not good. That being said the cost didn’t...

Food delivery through Swiss Chalet app.

The food was delivered 10 min prior to the advertised delivery so that was pleasant. The driver was polite and efficient.

The family meal with 6 quarter legs with 2 fries and 2 steamed veggies.

The veggies were well prepared (from frozen) but firm and tasty. This was the best of the food. It is a large portion of veggies.

The fries were good but not very crispy by the time they arrived. The portion was acceptable but not impressive.

The chicken legs were on the small side and the skin was pretty dry, like they had been out to long. Definitely not similar to the ones you get in-store. The meat near the bone was moist.

The bread buns (2 of which were missing) were harder then stones. My bread addicted children weren't able to power through the tough outer layer of crust. They were composted unfortunately.

The large container of sauce was great for sharing.

Overall, I will probably not order for delivery again. Either go in store or go somewhere else.

Ordering through the website proved to be very complicated and I gave up and downloaded the app.

Edit for most recent visit, We were seated quickly but then waited a long time for our server to take our order, then waited and waited for our food to be brought to us. When it arrived the fries were cold not even warm, the wings on both meals were charred black, the sauce came in takeout containers and one of the meals didn't have butter for the bun. Normally these concerns could be mentioned to the server after the first few bites but he was missing in action. At no point during our meal did he return to ask how things were (they weren't good). When we were clearly done our meal and were just waiting another server ended up removing our plates from the table. Eventually our original server returned with the bill. Not impressed with this visit at all. The things we like about Swiss Chalet is that they have decent food and you can get in and out fairly quickly.....we got...
