New place in The Glebe - Lansdowne specifically. My husband and I had our first visit. The decor is excellent - 50s 60s diner style with jukebox pumping out hits from the 50s to the 80s - works with the diner vibe and just plain fun. You go to the counter to order - the staff is competent and very polite. Most importantly, as always with a restaurant, the food was very good. They're adding to their menu soon but today we had: Beef Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries - the burger and fries were good - the burger was "real" meat as I like to call it, not frozen patties. My husband enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Burger with onion rings. Both very good. I checked to see if the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh - they were. The chicken filet was a nice eat-able thickness. Buns were toasted and not soggy. The owner joined us briefly to enquire about our experience - very nice man. And if that's not enough, how about Elvis to greet you at the door? I do recommend. We ate well and enjoyed the vibe....

Decided to stop by here prior to a show at TD place thinking it would be quick so my wife and I could wander around a bit. Took over 45 minutes to serve us and the 4 couples that were after us ended up walking out. When they went to get their refunds the lady at the counter said it was everyone's first night and they didn't know how to issue refunds. By the time we were finally served we had 5 mins to wolf it down(ended up not being able to eat our entire meal) and run over to TD place for the start of the show. Will never be stopping by there again. I don't blame the actual waitresses there, but clearly a poor managerial decision to staff it will with a bunch of new people all at the same time with no one senior to direct anything. Disappointing, would...

All I have to say is..WOW. Als chicken burger and the onions rings were a 10/10, perfectly crispy, juicy, and seasoned BEAUTIFULLY(just wish there was more onion rings!). The Oreo milkshake is definitely a must try, another 10/10. the service is SO kind, very attentive to cleaning up after customers. The server Lexi was the sweetest, she helped my family and I since it was our first time there, she was a great highlight to the experience.

Not to mention the atmosphere it feels like a REAL diner compared to other locations in ottawa, and happy days also takes the cake again with their food quality by far compared to Elgin/Zaks. This place deserves its flowers, 100% bang...

Happy Days Burgers and Poutine – Ottawa Clean, welcoming, and true to its retro charm, Happy Days offers a cozy spot to enjoy classic comfort food. The ambience strikes a perfect balance between nostalgic and fresh, spotless tables, friendly service, and a relaxed vibe make it an inviting stop. We sampled the Phillips Steak Poutine and the Chickenator Poutine — both served hot and generously portioned. The steak was tender, the chicken crisp, and the flavors bold without being overwhelming. A great place for a quick bite that doesn’t compromise on quality or cleanliness.
