Ive only been to hockey sushi twice. The first time i had a plate of saucy food ( not even mine ) dropped onto my lap and into my purse. The waitress apologized and me knowing that accidents happen i said that its okay and not to worry about it.
I went back today during lunch all you can eat and i will never return to this restaurant again. I will also be telling everyone i know about how awful that place is.
We arrived at 1:40 and ordered almost immediately ( since were sushi lovers we already knew what we wanted to get). We ordered 1 soup, 2 shrimp tempura, 12 spicy crab rolls and 12 california rolls . About 20 minutes go by and my friend gets her soup, 10 minutes after that we got the 12 spicy crab rolls. We each ate 6 rolls and then my friend was still eating her soup. Another 20 minutes pass and we haven't gotten the rest of our order. As were waiting we are seeing people who came in 15-20 minutes after us ordering plates of food eating it and then making a second order. I then ask the waitress if our food is still on the way, she asks what we ordered and then tells us she will go check. She comes back and says our order was lost and asks us again what we ordered. I tell her we still haven't got the 12 california rolls as well as the 2 piece shrimp tempura. The shrimp tempura almost comes immediately and then we wait another 25 minutes and still haven't received our california rolls. At this point were annoyed because we have seen tables all around us making multiple orders and we haven't even got everything from our first and only order.
Its now 2:40 and i wait for the waitress to walk by to tell her we still haven't received the california rolls. She then rudely argues with us and tells us she saw them get delivered to us and she remembers us getting the rolls, which we never got. We bicker back and forth a bit until i say that were just going to leave and that this was ridiculous service. She tries to then charge us for the sushi we ate which came to over half the price of what all you can eat costs. ( pretty sure she tried charging us for the california rolls we never received as well) I told her im not paying for a thing because of the quality service , not receiving our full order and only order, as well as what the price of the rolls were coming to, originally we wanted all you can eat sushi, its not our fault no one would bring us food/ accused us of already getting it. I wouldn't have ate any rolls at all if i knew we weren't going to be doing the all you can eat deal. We went for all you can eat lunch because its a good price for unlimited sushi.
The waitress literally laughs in our face and again tells us we can just pay for the rolls we ate. Ive had it with this girl and ask for the manager. The manager comes to our table and asked what the problem is, we then have to waste more of our time explaining / defending ourselves on what had happened( you could tell the girl told him that she thinks we ate the rolls and that we are lying about it ) He responds by telling us that we then have to wait while he goes back and checks through the cameras. Absolutely ridiculous. Another 5-10 minutes pass and he comes back to our table apologizing and that there will be no charge. Ohhhh is that because the camera footage literally just shows us sitting at the table for over an hour at the table waiting for our food/ never receiving the california rolls we were accused of getting and eating.
This is my first ever review written and its because i have never been treated so rudely in my life at a restaurant. On top of all this the floors were so slippery we could barley walk, at first we thought it was our shoes but once we observed everyone else in the restaurant struggling to walk anywhere we realized it was just there floors . Will never be returning and i wouldn't recommend this...
Read moreThis comment represents my personal opinion and is not related to the restaurant.
First, I would like to clarify the facts in response to JOJO’s comment. As the server who attended to your party, I witnessed the entire situation firsthand, and your description does not fully align with what actually happened.
When your party of four entered the restaurant, your mother wanted to choose a seat on her own. However, please understand that our restaurant has its own seating arrangements, and guests cannot select seats at will. I guided you to a table for four, but your father requested to switch to a six-person table. While the restaurant did have available seats at that time, we had reservations, so we could not allocate a six-person table to a party of four.
When I politely explained this to you, your father became agitated and raised his voice in dissatisfaction. I immediately asked him to remain calm and informed him that I would check with my supervisor. After confirming, I relayed the restaurant’s policy: a six-person table requires at least five guests. Upon hearing this, your father threw a teapot onto the table and left in anger.
Now, in your comment, you mention that your parents have back pain. However, throughout our interaction, you never informed us of this issue. If it had been a concern, we would have done our best to accommodate your needs, but such special requests must be communicated in advance.
Additionally, your father’s outburst not only disrupted our work but also startled a nearby mother dining with her two children. Throughout the entire situation, we remained professional and respectful in providing our service. If you were unhappy with the restaurant’s seating arrangement, you had the option to leave rather than raise your voice and disrupt others.
I hope you can understand the restaurant’s policies and, more importantly, that everyone can show at least a basic level of mutual respect...
Read moreWe were here 4 years ago when visiting family and we absolutely loved the place. Came back to visit our family again from out of town and out of country and decided to take the family out to visit this place and celebrate our daughter's birthday. Called in advance to reserve the table and confirmed 3 times over the phone how many people we have in our party. When we arrived the waiter, recounted the number of people, and again, we confirmed the number and ages of people. Had pretty nice and friendly dinner, and everything was very coY and pleasant. Got our bill, and paid it with a gracious (US style tip). But, when we got ready to leave, the whole positive experience was flushed down the drain. As our family members were ready to walk out the door, one of the waitresses or managers ran towards the door, screaming to close the doors and not let anyone from our party leave, so that they could recount thr number of people. When I asked what's going on, it turned out that they missed charging for one person. I've never been treated this way in any establishment. They saw exactly who paid for the bill and could have calmly approached me or my husband to shown us the discrepancy, and we would have settled the difference without any issues, just like we ended up settling it. There is no reason to treat customers like criminals, especially when the mistake was on yours, not ours. Next time we visit Canada, we will look for a different place to dine where customers are appreciated, and not treated like this. Needless to say, everyone's mood and our daughter's birthday celebration was completely ruined by...
