Luna Crepes & Cafe — Restaurant in Ottawa

Our family is spending the week before Christmas in this area. We were looking for a place to eat on Monday in Pembroke. Found a creperie but it is not open on Mondays. So for Tuesday we decided we would look for a creperie in the Ottawa area. Found Luna online and not having been there before and not sure of what to expect we called and made a reservation (since there were 12 of us all together) We arrived and found the cafe to be a cosy spot, but plenty of space for our large party. Noticed there regular tables as well as tables with barstool height chairs. There was even a small sitting area where you could sit without tables. We ordered a variety of crepes and paninis. We were especially wanting to try a breakfast crepe (breakfast is served all day) with halloum cheese, and one of the lunch crepes with Kopanisti (feta cheese and red pepper sauce) Really like to try something different. But there was a great variety of different crepes and even a choice for the vegetarians. The lunch crepes came with a choice of green or casear salad and the breakfast crepes came with fruit. Then we stayed for some of the dessert crepes. My wife got a Nutella crepe. Luna has their gelato made on site- all natural- great tasting. Even customized my banana split for me. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating to our large group. When the kids and toddlers were going to get some gelato which made them very happy. Went there looking at the reviews but was not very happy. The place is great. Small place but nice. Its a little cold inside.Place is set up nicely and they had a special lunch menu on the blackboard. So I went to order as we have to order n pay before. When I went to order they said this menu was only for weekdays. I think they can write that on the board as this is wrong advertising. Well we ordered some other stuff like vegetable crepes as they were out of panini too🤔🤔 and chicken burrito. And we ordered some waffles. Asking her to please try and give waffles first as it was for the kid. After 10 min we had some other order to add as some people came late and also ordered 1 more waffle. In 2 minutes she got us crepes with fruits. We told her we did not order it as we ordered waffles but she was not ready to hear as says we ordered crepes as per receipt. So I m sorry but if she messed up the order then she should have accepted that. Anyway we did not argue but the crepe was cold and was our last order according to 2nd recipet but came first. Surprisingly.😮 Well our vegetable crepe and chicken burrito came too after that and surprisingly they both were in a crepes no burrito and both had an omlet and 1 had vegetables and 1 had chicken. Place is a hidden Gem !! Looks to be family run in a strip mall off the beaten path in Kanata . We stumbled upon it and wow did we hit it lucky ! This place is outstanding!! Everyone from the front counter service to the table delivery was extremely polite , considerate and the place is spotless . When you walk in to this unassuming cafe , you are immediately excited as they have amble seating with a cosy outdoor patio , bright and airy . Not knowing what to do , we waited to be seated for a moment only to realize that you walk up to the counter at the other end and place your order and they will had you a number and just find a seat anywhere. The selection of homemade food from Waffles , omelettes, wraps etc was amazing ! We went in for breakfast and had the vegetarian omelette and my wife had the avocado feta omelette after it was suggested by the counter personnel (who was super friendly and knowledgeable) . I had a double espresso long which was one of the best I’d had in years ( and I travel a lot ) and my wife had an awesome cappuccino! Can’t recommend this place strongly enough and was told we came in at the right time ( around 1 pm ) as they were lined up to the door all morning. You watch them cook your food as you wait if you like .. and it’s abundantly clear that it’s all quality right from the start !! It did not disappoint . Just love it and can’t wait to return .
