We ordered a take out of combo of chicken and rice noodle pho and chicken friend rice with veggies
Such a common order is really difficult to go wrong.
Below are the things we noticed:
Whenever we have ordered pho or any Vietnamese/ Thai food, I never had to do it like DIY project, add the ingredients and heat and make your own pho!
Pho usually comes with everything in it except the rice noodles that come separately. Eating saltless flavourless chicken dipped in chicken broth was the last thing I expected!
Even when I did, my kids refused to eat it ...I had to cook something else for them to feed them before bed.
After a long hardworking frustrating Sunday with kids, all I needed was some good food to eat at the end of the day.
This was really unacceptable!
I called the restaurant and they offered me a 'discount' for later orders. But I refused as I am never going to order again from them. I dont know if they will even consider even half refund for the spilled food that we could not eat. I have not heard from them or seen any reverts/refund deposits in my account.
Highly disappointing and...
Read moreThis was originally a 5 star post. However it's now been altered to a 2 star post. Kanata Noodle House ( Carling) was once our go to for Pho and Vermicelli. After making reservations on Friday 01/11/2019 for a very important family gathering on Saturday 02/11/2019 we received the absolute worst service and I was embarrassed to have chosen this restaurant. Our reservation was "lost" even though the young lady who took it down ( who was very sweet) was so excited at the thought of us celebrating at Kanata Noodle House. A member of my family had to text me to ask how many people were on the reservation, as when they arrived, our reservation was no-where to be found, and by the looks of things the tables I had originally reserved were taken for someone else's party named "kim". We ended up getting the table we usually see staff and family eating at during less busy times, right by the kitchen door. The woman who ended up waiting our table seemed like a manager or owner, clearly did not want to be there and was sour the entire time. 2 hours for pho! 75% of that time was us waiting. We saw countless wait staff run past us , only for us to be forgotten and ignored. We asked for more tea and she forgot about that, only to remember again 15 minutes later when I kept playing with the tea pot loudly when she walked by. I tried to stop her a few times, but she would power-walk past us into the kitchen and avoid all eye contact. I still left a 10% tip, and I feel even then I was very generous. I think we are going to be looking for a new noodle house now. Very...

My advice is to try Phu-Yen instead. Better prices, less confusion, always good service, for the better part of this century!
Unfortunately, the last few times at Kanata Noodle House have been a disappointment, and myself and our group won't return.
We had a table of 6 people. Our orders were incomplete, mixed up, and one of our plate with chicken was actually missing the chicken. One of our side never got served. It was very hard to get the waiter to understand what was missing.
Time was of the essence, and we ended up starting to eat our incomplete orders. Mid-way through, and order of side chicken was added, which we assumed was for the plate that had missing chicken.
Low-and-behold, when it was time to pay at the cash, some people on the group got charged for the wrong plates, and the chicken was charged extra. The cashier wasn't too cooperative. Tips was also forced (because we were a group of 6?).
The whole experience was a large confusion, for something that is usually very simple in most restaurant: Paying the precise amount accounting for what we eat.
Being forced to pay tip for a mediocre service isn't all that great. Not having our order isn't that great either. And having to pay extra for food that was actually include in the plate was a bit too much.
Never again. There are just too many good place to go eat around to have to ever need to go back there too. If you are in the area, try Phu-Yen instead. Much better food, never confusion, and that has been true for at...
