I will say this. Any restaurant can make a mistake. Any restaurant can not have a certain product in stock. But not every restaurant makes sure to fix a mistake, nor offer a solution to low or no stock of a popular item.
As you see from many reviews, Quebecers flock here, because we can't have nice things. We get sub standard chicken, that used to K ing F or C hicken. Not anymore. And not for many years. The old King For Chicken changed even the 3 things that made them that(bread, neon coleslaw that isn't anymore and the one chicken breast you get that has the 2 sides, is a little tiny white piece of locally purchased Quebec chicken).
Now you can understand why Quebecers will drive to another province to try something that no longer compares to the trash competition. You will eat at Popeyes and never want to experience the competition's full experience(which includes what comes moments after the meal, and then again a few hours later).
Popeyes is the new standard to beat for fried chicken. Spicy or original, biscuits and many sides to choose from. Daily and special website deals to entice.
Not only is Popeyes usually the best fried chicken around(depending which location, some are definitely in need of improvement).
This location was fresh food, even before lunch and after lunch. When they happened to mess up an original order with spicy, they fixed it and made it right with empathy and were apologetic.
When my order was going to be wait for a fresh batch of spicy, they agreed to my suggestion as a resolution and we're happy to provide it to me without arguing and again, empathetic and happy to have the buisness.
So at this location, hek ya 5 stars. I haven't given a review of the other 2 locally ive been to. Nor the new highway locations. But go here and know that you are getting it only the best fried chicken around, but also chicken that hasn't been sitting heated for hours waiting to be forced into your stomach.
Basically. If this location is closest, you are in good hands. If not, take your chances. But even lamp heated Popeyes is better than the greasy freshest chicken from the competition (and it's never fresh with...
Read moreI called to see if they had enough chicken for three large orders and was told yes, drove 13 minutes to be told they don't take phone orders, which I never tried doing just wanted to make sure I wasn't there waiting very long but they lied they didn't have enough spicey chicken or mild for that matter and no sides 9pm just mash potatoes and fries nothing else. The guy taking my order said about 25min it will be ready, but another lie, there were people there before me waiting so I would have to wait even longer and they started to make the fries before the chicken was ready so the only thing that was up to the company's standards was the hot chicken which the Manger gave me two extra pieces with cold fries by the time 40min pass and the wings I order to eat while waiting they kept that too so I waited I should have ordered it on another bill so of everything I ordered only the chicken was hot so if you don't have the time to wait on them find another location and if you don't keep watching they put stale chicken with your order and I called 8:53 got there just pass 9 this was hy far the worst reception I have in all the Popeyes in Ontario and on that note they could take some examples from Coburg Popeyes great service and if you call for take they'll be ready for you no problem what so ever can't even talk about the store itself but they apologized but it wasn't real lied to my face with a smile very disrespectful to their customers that spend money there and I had no choice when I got it would be even farther away to the next one....
Read moreFood portions have gone way down; chicken tenders are half the size they used to be. Same as their scone biscuits which are now two-thirds of previous size.
The cashier should have asked more questions about our order (there wasn't any other customers behind us), i.e. which ranch sauce (they have at least two kinds), eat-in or takeout, etc. Always a bit chaotic when they call our number--wrong sauce, no sauce, missing items.
They recently removed the booth seating on one side of the restaurant and only replaced with small tables and one chair for most of these tables, making the place seem deserted or very "clinical" like during peak Covid with much physical distancing.
Worst of all is they removed the garbage spot with a flap opening with a plain rubber garbage bin with no lid; just lined with a black garbage bag. There are two tables facing this. How unsightly!
Your prices are not cheap. At least show that you appreciate and welcome your customers with a better interior setting. I felt like I went into a restaurant in a rough neighbourhood during the time I was eating here. Forgot to take a photo of the damaged seating (the bench I was sitting on and the one behind were taped with duct tape all over the seat).
Once again, everything was doused or marinated in heavy salt.
Lastly, the restaurant should tell Hellman mayonnaise that their individual packets are horrible; the slit that helps you tear open the packet is above the sealed part ( see photo) making it EXTREMELY hard and most of the time with greasy fingers...
