Came here for lunch, and ordered a fried chicken bun, and a chicken fried steak bun.
The service was friendly and the staff were very proud of what they were doing and very willing to share how they make everything and exactly what does into it, and I was told pretty much everything but their buns are gluten free. The service was kind of slow, the place is pretty small and the decor is kind of lacking, so it's not somewhere you really want to hang out, it feels like a fast food or food truck style place, but we were the first or second people there, and our food took almost 20 minutes to come out. This is my main complaint.
The chicken fried steak bun wasn't quite what I was expecting. I was expecting a piece of steak pounded flat and breaded, but it was an actual hunk of steak that they managed to cook rare and keep tender. And unlike a lot of steak sandwiches I've had, the beef wasn't chewy or tough, so it was easy to eat, and clearly a quality piece and cut of meat.
The fried chicken bun was also quite good. I don't usually like pickles but they really complimented the chicken and added some tang & crunch that made the sandwich feel a bit lighter. The chicken was well fried and crispy. They had some house sauces I hadn't tried, but I'm sure some would go well on...
Read moreThis place advertises itself as celiac friendly and gluten free. However, we were not happy with the amount of risks that there were in place. The restaurant is indeed not completely gluten free, and we had to ask two seperate people to have it confirmed that there was a seperate prep area for the gluten and gluten-free items, as the first one just snapped at my mother for asking. There were also issues with condiments and cross-contamination. Instead of having normal ketchup bottles, the ones they had were the old glass ones that the ketchup gets stuck in. We watched two seperate people stick their knives in the bottle to get ketchup out. That seems like a bit of an oversight on the restaurant's part and a huge risk of cross-contamination between gluten and gluten-free dishes.
The food was pretty good, but there was hair in my burger. The service was slow, and the second staff member that we spoke with was very kind and helpful. The restaurant was dirty - the tables were sticky, there was dust everywhere, the booths were covered in food debris, and the menus had chunks of food stuck on them.
I would recommend this place for takeout, but I would not recommend this place if you are celiac. Despite being advertised as celiac friendly, there were many issues in...

She ordered a burger with a GF bun (server clarified GF and wrote it down), but she was served a regular bun - which she didn't realize until the car ride back to residence after dinner. As a result, she felt pretty crummy for the rest of the night.
Stuff like this happens from time to time in a restaurant, so I texted the owner to let them know about this, in case this helped avoid this happening to someone else. Didn't ask for anything in return - just wanted them to know that it happened.
Sent the text last night and got the receipt that the text was read, and as of mid-afternoon today, not a response - not even a "hey, how is she doing?"
Too bad. Little Mac's would have been the go-to place for future dinners when I took my daughter's room out. The food (minus the one dinner) was great. Sucks that they didn't seem to care when they made an honest mistake that affected...
