I just had the most amazing birthday dinner at Margarita tonight with my family!
First, they take reservations and we were seated under the covered patio section - fortunate, because it looked like it would rain. The ambience was fantastic: from the soft music to the tropical plants around, the paintings of tropical birds to the positive atmosphere, it genuinely felt like being down South (on Bank St no less!)
The service was phenomenal; the waitresses were very courteous and spoke Spanish with this Quebexican, the bartender offered his signature Paradise Margarita (try it if you can handle some piquante) and we were very well looked-after. Gracias amigos y amigas!
We ordered tacos del mar (shrimp), chimichangas and tacos dorados; all three portions were generous and delicious, almost everything was made in-house which gave us a truly authentic Mexican experience. Their homemade salsas were phenomenal, especially the mango-habanero (my favourite) with the right level of heat without being excruciating. Everything tasted fresh and sat well in the stomach, allowing us to enjoy every bite until the end!
Finally, four staff members came out to sing happy birthday and offered a fantastic dessert: churro waffles with chocolate, caramel and dulce de leche drizzles sprinkled with candied papaya and mango. Feliz cumpleaños indeed 😁
I highly recommend checking out this venue, especially as they begin to resume indoor dining tomorrow. I look forward to returning here soon with friends, I haven't had such an authentic experience with Mexican food in Ottawa since I've moved here. Thanks to everyone in the staff, wishing you success and good business through the rest...

If you're looking for delicious Mexican food and also want to dance 💃🏻or have a cozy place to stay, @margaritaottawa in the Glebe is a great place to spend an evening! . I started by trying their Margaritas 🍹, which I highly recommend! They have many yummy flavours such as: fire 🌶, cilantro, tamarindo, hibiscus 🌺, and lime . My favourite was the hibiscus - it was richly flavoured and tasty. I would only recommend the "fire" one as it was very spicy - even for a spice lover like myself! 😎 . I thought my favourite dish would be the tacos 🌮 , but it was actually the wings - they were fried very well and sauced with a deliciously thick and spicy sauce. The meat in the wings was juicy (not dry), and they were a good size. It was so good I wanted to order a second plate but decided to try other menu items. . For their tacos 🌮 , they were of a good size and I liked that each had dollops of guacamole 🥑 for freshness. I felt like the amount of veggies was good as well. They go especially well with a tasty margarita! 😉 . Lastly, I was feeling nostalgic, and wanted poutine as a treat, but also wanted curly fries 🍟 , so I was excited when I found they had a curly fry dish with cheese 🧀 sauce! It satisfied my craving for something indulgent and went perfectly with the saucy wings. . If you're someone who likes to dance 💃🏻 🕺🏻, definitely sit inside as some evenings there are different themes and there is a DJ playing music. The night I was there, it was 90's music 🎵 with lights and artificial smoke 💨 , which made for a...
