My wife and I went out for our first date night since the pandemic started. We booked at Milestones Kanata. The booking was easy and the hostess was great when we said we were running a bit late for our reservation. When we arrived we were promptly seated and our server, Lisa arrived to take our drink requests and provide us the menu's. My wife wanted something fun to drink with aparol, but was not sure of what to have, Lisa took the challenge on and spoke with the bartender and came back with a modified Miami iced drink, base was vodka and pineapple with aparol, kudo's to the bartender!!! for thinking of this fun concoction. (Myself, I am a simple domestic beer drinker,) my wife loved the drink! Lisa was great attentive, courteous and funny. appetizer and meal was served in a timely fashion although our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The portions size is well worth the pricing. During our experience we noticed a lady not in uniform, but cleaning tables helping with orders and supporting the staff and servers. We asked Lisa who this individual was and to our surprise, it was her manager "Heidi". We were so impressed that a manager would be so hands on supporting their crew, and the staff speaking so highly of them. When we paid our bill and Lisa brought over the bag and take home packages, we asked to speak with Heidi. Heidi came quickly to our request and to be honest was looking weary of why we had asked for her presence, you could almost see her anticipation of a complaint. It was then we informed her of our wonderful dining experience, but also that we recognized the effort and leadership. By performing the same duties as she asked of her staff to perform she truly recognizes that whether your the CEO or the janitor we all have a part to play in the success of a business and ourselves. This is true leadership!! I am speaking from my own managerial experiences, it is very rare you see a manager assisting their staff, side by side. Milestones, I hope you recognize what kind of individual you have here with Heidi and if supported and treated well, she will do your franchise your employee's and your customers well.    Read morePretty disappointed. My wife an I decided to have dinner and catch a movie so we decided on Milestone since we could could park the car and walk to the theater. We arrived at 5:30 - the restaurant was about 3/4 empty, yet we were told there would a minimum 20-30 minute wait. We were early, so we headed over to the bar side to grab a drink. We pulled up to a high top table for 2 and to our surprise we were told the table was reserved and we would have to vacate it immediately. We found another sit down table to 2 in the corner sandwiched between between two other couples - we had to vacate that table also? What a joke! The bar was also 3/4 empty and was standing room only because every table was 'reserved'. We picked up and left. The hostess had a blank look on her face as though she couldn't believe we would leave? We didn't expect to be treated like royalty, but when your restaurant is 3/4 empty and you are making people wait for even a bar table you need to give your head a shake. Perhaps my wife and I who are in our late 30's didn't meet the criteria of who they wanted in the place. We had a great dinner a 6 minute walk away at Crazy Horse. We were seated immediately and the service was fantastic.
Update - Milestones management contact me shortly after writing this review and had offered a more detailed explanation in addition to an apology for our guest experience (or lack of) on the night we visited. bumping to 4 stars from 1 star. +1 additional star for actually taking the time to reply to my review +1 star for apologizing for starting our date night off on the wrong foot +1 star for offering something to help remedy...

As a person with a seafood allergy, I have significant trouble eating out. Mainly it is a matter of restaurants not taking it seriously enough or not paying enough attention to detail.
The staff at Milestones this evening were exceptional. The first question after a very nice welcome and introduction was to inquire about dietary restrictions. I have never had this question asked before me bringing it up. Myself along with two members of my large work party had dietary restrictions and the entire night, we were brought our meals and drinks with special attention paid to ensure that they had been prepared separately.
When I inquired about a menu item, the waiter said it would not be safe for me but asked to excuse himself to the kitchen to see of a separate special version could be made, and I was rewarded with an Asian dish that was absolutely fantastic. This is the type of meal that i can almost never eat due to fish sauces and oils.
As someone who manages a service team, I would have been incredibly proud to have a client have the experience that I did tonight. No matter whether you or your loved ones have allergies or not, I am confident that you will be well taken care of at this restaurant.
