Divan Turkish Cuisine — Restaurant in Ottawa

Stumbled upon Divan, after shopping at Tanger Mall. We were looking for something reasonably priced close by. Really glad we chose Divan. Location is ok in Centrum diagonally across from Landmark Cinemas. They have a terrace but we ate inside. The decor is very nice, simple and elegant. We arrived at 17h30 on a Friday with no reservations, they had many available tables which filled up quickly after we sat down. We were professionally greeted by our waiter and served with a smile. Having only been to Turkey 3 times with cruise ships we never had a chance to eat a diner of Turkish food so this was our chance. We chose the mixed grill for 2 and got a large portion of many different meats along with bulgar and rice. Everything was very tasty and all the meats were cooked and spiced perfectly. We were (and are) very impressed this is little gem and we found out that they have only been opened for 2 weeks... Excellent! We will definitely go back and explore their menu again. Highly recommended. BTW they do not have any alcohol on the menu but with food this tasty it is not...

Divan Turkish Restaurant in Kanata is truly a gem! From the moment you walk in, the elegant interior design catches your eye — it beautifully blends Turkish historical charm with a modern, classy atmosphere. The food is absolutely incredible; every dish is full of authentic flavor and care.

As a Turkish person, I can confidently say this is one of the most genuine Turkish dining experiences in Ottawa. It’s also the first restaurant in the city to offer pacha soup, which is a must-try! Their menu is rich and thoughtfully prepared — not just the usual rice-heavy plates. The portions are generous, and everything tastes homemade and fresh.

I’m especially a fan of their lavash, which is perfectly baked and simply addictive. I’ve tried several dishes so far, and not a single one has disappointed me.
