We had a disappointing experience here. The restaurant was about half full. We waited an unusually long time for drinks for our table of six...the drinks came 1-2 at a time. The time we waited for the food was considerably longer. I'm usually pretty forgiving at restaurants due to staffing shortage issues but I haven't experienced a wait this long in awhile. When the food came, there were a few issues: -We asked for no onions on the lobster poutine. It had onions -The prime rib sandwich did not come with the advertised au jus But by far the most disappointing was the lobster sandwich which is on their featured lobster menu. I copied and pasted the menu entry for this item from their website: "Lobster, julienned apple, arugula and avocado slices. Served on a brioche bun alongside our signature fries." The sandwich filling was cold and contained a ton of red onions + celery. The sauce was fairly spicy and the avocado slices were missing. The waitress goes "ya, that is the pimento pepper" when we mentioned the spice level. The sandwich reminded me of a cheap chicken salad sandwich. There were two decent sized lobster chunks that tasted like they were canned. When mentioning this to the waitress, she apologized and offered to bring something else. We ordered a second prime rib sandwich, but with no sides. A second waiter came by with the new sandwich and said the first waitress forgot to explain the ingredients of the lobster sandwich to us. Apparently they are supposed to disclose the additional ingredients and spicy sauce thats not listed in the menu? Our waitress said "don't worry the lobster won't be on the bill" When we got the bill, the lobster sandwich was off but she had added the replacement prime rib sandwich we were offered. A manager was going around to all the tables to check in but seemed to miss ours during his rounds. Credit where credit is due, the lobster poutine and linguini were tasty. Overall, just about 2 hours from seated to paying the bill.

Do not be fooled by the picture. The prime rib steak was bad. Although the quality of the meat was there, the cooking and (lack of proper) seasoning totally ruined it. And what happened with that bulk of fat? Is that what I paid $5 extra for? Everything else on that plate tasted sadder and cheaper. It felt like someone just dug out some two-week-old veggies, air-fried some Walmart on-sale frozen fries and saved all the money to buy a piece of good steak - And completely MESSED IT UP. The mushroom and the onion helped a tiny bit - only IF they WERE free. Shockingly together they cost the same as the French onion soup. One A&W burger also cost $12, kinda scary when you think about it right? And speaking of the onion soup, it was wayy too salty. Is it meant to be poured onto the steak? Cuz felt like it stole all the salt that should go onto the rib. The chicken tender salad, on the other hand, was GOOD! The fried chicken was juicy and tender. There was something unique about the batter, in an impressively good way. The greens were fresh and the dressing was light, complementing the plate very well. This was the only thing that deserved a try-out. First I thought about coming back again just for the chicken tender, then I found out that you can get it in Costco! I’d say you go grab a box of that and air-fry it at home. I strongly believe it would taste the same as what you would get in the restaurant, without the dim light and the 90s rock playlist. Conclusion - avoid this place, saving money and time. Instead go to Costco and get a box of that chicken tender. The staff were friendly. The manager handled complaints very professionally - of course a much more tuned-down version. So kudos to you. 20240626 About to give a second try, let’s see how it goes

Update: I was contacted by the establishment and they took my review seriously. I have changed my rating from a 2 to a 4, but would still like to leave my initial experience here for future reference. Not worth the bill! I have never written a negative review before but this place warrants it. Ordered two of the more expensive meals on the menu and neither steak was worth anything close to that price, terrible cuts of meat, very fatty. The surf and turf came with a strip loin which was very thick and still somehow overcooked. I would have mentioned it at the restaurant but the waitress never asked how the meals were. Another small thing but that didn't end my meal well was that I was out with my husband and the waitress blatantly put the check down in front of him and when I said I was paying she asked if it was a special occasion, I said very politely that no I pay for half of everything. Again a very small issue that would have never bothered me on its own but with everything else it made for an unpleasant experience.

I dine a few week backs at the Kanata location! I will never ever go back there again and never will I support this location after I explained the reasons why! My partner and I have went for dinner and we waited an excessive amount of time for our dinner plate we both took the 16oz prime ribs au jus style not grilled with an side Salad to start.. we had our salad and we waited so so long for our dinner plate so we decided to go out side quick for a smoke in between the salad and the dinner plate! That evening it was extremely cold out and rainy/snowy that when we arrive outside we decided not to smoke cause it’s was really gross out.. so we came back in mostly right away! We couldn’t understand how come it was so long for the food to arrive but we didn’t say anything and waited with patience to be kind and understanding in case they were backed up in the kitchen! We suddenly received our food and the prime rib mash baked and vegetables was so so so cold that we told the waitress that we would appreciate to have our food warmed up! They brought it back prime rib grilled not au jus again potatoes cold cold cold and vegetables cold cold cold So we were a little upset and we ask to speak to r the manager and he tells us that oh well the kitten makes a lots of mistakes and it’s kinda our fault cause we went out for an smoke! Like we explain that’s impossible to be our fault cause we didn’t even stay out for a smoke! Who does that blames the customers for their mistakes! We made a review explaining that we were upset and not satisfied so we get an email that they will send us gift certificates for their mistakes and they apologize so we were grateful that they recognized there wrong doing! we bought 2 16 onze prime rib it was like if I remember the invoice was like 165,00 plus tips and the waitress was great! She couldn’t even believe what the manager told us blaming us and the kitchen making only mistakes! So we received 30$ worth of certificates in total that doesn’t even pay for 1 meal it’s so Insulting that I don’t even going to used those certificates and I will never ever ever ever support this location ever again! It’s like laughing in our faces the food was absolutely aweful we told them for an 30 certificate that doesn’t even pay for one meal! No thanks I will never support them again! I will go give me 100’s of dollars businesses somewhere were I feel like cares to start and I don’t feel laugh at like this! I was going to give them an other chance but this is the cherries on the sundae! 30$ WOW that’s what I am worth after spending this money and everything shouldn’t have been serve this way! NO THANK YOU! NOW YOU LOST 2 LOYAL CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE THE KEG HERE WE COME! 😉

I used to love going there at lease 2 a week and now I won’t return ever again the food quality has gone down terribly but the price increase and that’s ok but come on make sure there is quality it’s been awful.. invest in a new chef and especially in a new manager that blames your customers for having cold food! lol I don’t recommend this place to anyone! I have gave them so many chances and every time we go we leave disappointed ☹️ and believe me we don’t mind to pay for good food! It’s not the price...
