We are regular customers at Moxie’s Restaurant at your Hunt Club Road location. We get together after work on Wednesday Nights as they offer 1/2 price on there bottles of wine which these days is exceptional. We tend to arrive around 3:30 pm and always reserve the same table. We always order a white wine bottle and other drinks also and the atmosphere is great. We laugh and talk and it’s so wonderful to catch up with friends and colleagues. The food is hot and tasty and the chef needs to be commanded on his presentation and platting of food. My biggest really biggest problem is the service and the lack of it. The staff are very kind but we are always waiting to reorder anything and or waiting so long for our good and or paying the bill. During our stay We Must Always ask for someone to come and take our order and Moxie’s excuse is the shift change or be patient we do not have the staff on. Ok I get it but guess what… Covid is over yes folks over and done with. Stop using this as an excuse and hire more staff especially on Wednesday Nights as it can get real busy and noisy. And, train your staff the proper and etiquette way to serve Customers. Give them proper training on Customer Service as this is the way to bring your customers back and as Covid has caused a lot of chaos and disruption you need your regulars to keep coming back. Regulars will keep you in business and not close your doors. We have not been in, in a few weeks and really not sure we will be back. Very sad for us as we really like everything else but treating your customers with respect and going above and beyond your call of duty is a Priority. Thanks so much, Angel Rose...
Read moreWow. Just wow. From the moment we walked in I was super impressed with the atmosphere and when the hostess greeted and seated us it was with professionalism and we immediately knew we were in a fine dining restaurant. There was a surprise though, read on. We were quickly seated in a perfect wide 2 person booth which is super comfy and more than wide enough to cut into a steak and not worry about elbowing someone walking by. Calming lights of all types, great art and literally one of the best ambiances I've experienced in a restaurant let alone one with such a great price point. The waitress Gabrielle was amazing! Walked us through everything and gave perfect explanations and left everything up to us but still made sure everything was perfect. And perfect it was. Their Amber on tap was amazing, the food was delicious and fresh. The perfect balance of flavours, freshness and believe it or not....price. Our meal at any restaurant would be on par or more, even something as cookie cutter as Montana's and would definitely not come even close to the food at Moxie's. Did I mention the bathrooms? Lol. Wow. Don't know where to look when using the urinal men? No worries at Moxie's. Catch up on the game! Tvs at every one. Cleanest, and most awesome bathrooms I've seen in a public space. The women even have a powder room in theirs to sit and freshen up. Seriously above and beyond. No matter what my experience has been this dining experience is a must. Get out and try it and you'll see for yourself, it's a 10 out of 10 and if I could give it more than 5 stars. Looking forward to many...
Read moreWe reserved a table a week in advance. I was specific that due to mobility issues, as well as my size, we required a traditional table. Pub tables and their round booths would not suffice as I can’t get up into a pub table nor fit into their tiny round booths.
We arrived 10 minutes early for a 5pm reservation. They brought us to a round booth. I explained my request, they said they had nothing listed for special accommodations.
I luckily did it by email and had the confirmation and reply that they would have no problem arranging a table for me. Even after showing it to then, they then proceeded to lead us to the bar side, where she wanted to sit us at a pub table/booth. Double no. She pointed out I could move the table to get in. But left Jo room for my wife.
They then asked us to wait in the lobby while they look into it.
One young lady apologized for the mistake. But said manager was too busy at the moment. I explained I was ready to walk out.
20 minutes later we did leave. We ended up next door at Bambü. As they were seating us at a every move table with no reservations even on a busy Saturday, Moxies called to say they had arranged a table. My wife had gone back to tell them we were eating elsewhere. They showed her the table, a small table akin to a child’s table, squished in near the kitchen.
We’ve had good experiences at the Kanata and east end locations. But have yet to have one at the Hunt Club one. And this was our last time giving...
