We’ve always ordered takeout from your restaurant, and everything was usually fine because we’re there to ensure the order is correct. Today, we decided to dine in for the first time. After placing and paying for our order, we sat down to wait.

When the first item—my husband’s Saj sandwich—was brought to the table, it was clearly not what we ordered. After just one bite, we set it aside and informed the staff. The lady took the sandwich, looked inside, touched it, took it to other staff and they touched it too, and brought it back, insisting it was correct and that “the toppings would appear further inside”. We didn’t want to argue, so we waited another 30 minutes for my food to arrive so we could eat together, as that’s the point of dining in. Unfortunately, that meant one meal was cold, and our experience was already disappointing.

Halfway through his sandwich, I asked her to look again and confirm the contents. Only then did she acknowledge the mistake and said a new sandwich would be made. But by that time, my husband was already full—after eating a sandwich that was incorrect, cold, and had been touched by staff.

Frankly, the situation could’ve been resolved so much better if the sandwich had simply been remade when we first raised the concern. Instead, we were essentially forced to eat something we didn’t order and didn’t enjoy. Offering a replacement at the end wasn’t helpful.

If you truly want to make things right, we believe a refund is more appropriate. We didn’t receive the correct order and didn’t have the dining experience we were experiencing.

She also took my receipt and when I asked for it back she never brought it back.

Our toppings: parsley, onion, turnip, tomatos, pickles, lettuce, fries

What we got was only lettuce, tomatoes and fries

After reading the previous reviews I have noticed this is happening way more often than I expected. Maybe your new staff need training? Because this wasnt...

I’m a very picky person when it comes to restaurants. I’ve been to many, many middle eastern restaurants around Ontario but I must say, none have satisfied me as much as this one. First of all, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The place itself is very well-decorated. Amazing seats and a vibe that makes you feel like you’re back home. The captured the middle eastern essence with it’s clean spaces, beautiful music and amazing atmosphere so well that I was in genuine awe. I usually don’t like eating in public but I didn’t mind dining in at all.

Secondly, the heartwarming service. A particular worker, Eman, gave me and my friend a very warm welcome. She often checked on us to make sure everything was alright and provided us without everything we needed.

But most importantly, the food. I’ve only been to Royal Rooster three times to dine in and once to take out, but I must say, it was delicious every time. I never finish my food but when it comes to Royal Rooster, nothing is left on my plate. I specifically love their Saj Meal mixed with chicken and lamb. The cut up bite-sized shawarmas make it so pleasant and easy to eat. I absolutely love their fries as well, but my favourite item has to be the garlic sauce. Seriously, it’s delicious. What’s amazing their food will still have its high quality unique taste even as cold leftovers. The tea they provide afterwards leaves such a delicate balance and aftertaste.

That’s all for my review. I’ve never left a review on a restaurant before but this one simply so good that I feel I must. I 100% recommend if you haven’t tried this place yet, especially for dining in with family/friends for a special occasion! They’ll love...

We (2 adults & 2 kids under 4) ordered online at 5h25pm. Little did we know it was their first day of using BBQs - which was not advertised on their website. We got to the restaurant at 6h00pm and the food wasn't ready. They told us to come back in 45min to 1hr. After weighing options, we decided to do the wait by watching the planes land & takeoff with our kids. We went back at 7h00, they said they lost our paper with our order on it, however they would put it together right away. Under the impression they had all the food ready, we paid. After 10min, food was being brought to other tables & takeout people. It's been 1hr & 45min at this point that we've been patiently waiting. We asked for our money back. They ignored our request & said the order was in the midst of being prepared. We asked for the owner. A customer pointed out the owner to us as the employees wouldn't help us. We went to the owner and asked for our money back & to cancel our order. The owner brought us to the counter & asked the cashier we had dealt with what's going on. She said our order is being made. The manager went in the back & came out with an order that was not even ours. This is at 7h30pm.

My husband explained that we had waited 2hrs total, didn't get the right food & asked for a form of compensation. He told us "it's busy, it's busy, I can't do that" and walked away.

We will not be going back to this establishment & to all other clients, be weary or ready for bad service &/or a...

We got a platter to take out last week, and today we had dinner at the restaurant. The takeout platter was pretty good. I would order again. Their garlic sauce is not very garlicky though. Dining in - there are pros and cons. Pro: Beautiful interior. Family-friendly. Lots of booths and high chairs. Spacious and stroller-friendly. Lots of individual washrooms. Con: If you’re going at a busy time (e.g. Saturday dinner), be prepared to wait. We waited over 30min for our food (read: hangry kids & hangry breastfeeding mom). There seems to be a problem with logistics and prioritization. They just opened so I hope they make improvements in the future. They do not provide hand sanitizers. I looked everywhere. Accessibility is lacking because the wheelchair buttons don’t work. Family platter is heavy on pita and fries, not a lot of vegetables. Doogh (yogurt drink) was too salty for my taste. I am not familiar with different types of shawarmas based on the regions, but I think this is Syrian style shawarma? I find it more bread-heavy than the Lebanese shawarma. The fries are oily but in a guilty pleasure kind of way. Overall, it’s OK. Would do takeout but hesitant to dine in again on a weekend. I would not order the $54.99 Family Platter again.

We had terrible experience today at this restaurant. My partner and I went to order one chicken shawarma, specifically asked for pickle on side. Once billed when we went to collect the shawarma and pickle on side, we received only shawarma. When we asked politely for the pickle, one person at counter already packed it for us. But suddenly there was another person on counter whom I guess named Ahmed behaved very arrogantly and shouted on us saying they cannot provide it. I don't know how can an employee with this kind of violent and filthy behavior is working at a customer facing role. When we went to the lady cashier, she accepted her mistake and was ready to provide us the food for which we already paid money for. But the “Ahmed” guy again refused to give us nevertheless of cashier requesting him. He also insisted to charge us 5$ for one spoon of pickle which he finally had to pack for us. 1. We never asked for free food 2. We didn't behave inappropriately 3. We never had this kind of behavior in any other restaurant other than this If we had enough time, we would have gone legally for treating us this way. This is totally unacceptable behavior. Imagine receiving this treatmebt after you paid for your food and tip for the same people.
