Shawarma Byte - HALAL- Mediterranean Lebanese cuisine — Restaurant in Ottawa

The food is good which is what gives it the second star, aside from my fried pickles not being cooked throughly, let's get into why I'm leaving the review after readings others whom have shared a similar experience.

My partner and I each, order a small chicken shawarma, and we get a fried pickles. The guy at the front was seeming to rush us and asked if we wanted it all dressed. My partner said they did , I said I didn't and told them what I wanted on it. He then rushed us aside while taking the other customers order. He then proceed to make the shawarma and makes them both all dressed.. like he paused for a moment and then continued to do it. (I didn't speak up becuase I was in awe, this will make sense soon). He then pretty much has the fried pickles and shawarma ready within maybe 4 minutes.....and seems to rush us out.

With the customers before and after us he seemed to have great customer service... but with us it felt very unwelcoming. This was my first experience with this place and it makes me not want to come back because I...

In the last 2 months they’ve screwed up every order I’ve placed. Even going to the place itself and telling them, still messed up. There was a time they were good but not anymore. I don’t know what happened but they don’t serve things like they use too. Dry salads, no gravy on poutine, messed up sizes. The list goes on. I’m going to a different place after tonight’s order. I ordered 2 salads, 1 with only tomatoes. 1 large chicken poutine, and 1 chicken sandwich with small fries and a side of gravy.

What I got: 2 salads with no tomatoes, small regular poutine with no gravy, and a small chicken sandwich with no fries or gravy.

After this I told the mistake and they just gave me a thrown together “correction” just to get me out. With the small fries just tossed and mashed into the box with gravy poured on it, not put on the side. The poutine? Still not done properly, threw the chicken on top with little to no...

That was pretty below average. What's below "below average"? Cause that's what I just had.

If you can get over the fact the chicken was both dry as sawdust, yet .. had unrendered fat in several bites, it was seasoned like boiled chicken. I know that's harsh.. but yeah. i started pulling chicken out before each bite, to help the experience out a bit.

You'd hope the hummus is at least better than grocery store commercially produced stuff... Nope. Maybe whoever did prep that day, just missed some garlic and citrus.

Toum had less punch than Glass Joe! (Yes... Mike Tyson Punch-Out reference). It was applied liberally, but.... seemed missing from each bite.

Actually kind of angry at myself, for not leaving earlier. Frustration set in after standing in front of the counter for 5 minutes, while the only 2 staff filled call in orders in front of me, and didn't even acknowledge me standing there.
