Shawarma King — Restaurant in Ottawa

AGGRESSIVE STAFF | PRE-CHEWED FOOD | FALSE PRICE —— I’ve never written a such a disappointing review but staff this morning was horrible, really rude and impatient(as if I didn’t know what I wanted). I asked him for the price of a small plater he immediately got annoyed and told me to look at their menus. So I did what he asked, found it, I thought it was a little expensive for the size but said whatever. He makes it, grandly annoyed and snappy… Comes time to pay; price is different from flyer and displays… I assume maybe it was an error, he is even more mad that I even dared to ask lol. Harshly turns his whole heavy monitor to show me. I explain to him it’s not the same price, he’s then blames it on a printer error(price on display was the same as the flyer, unsure why he wants me to pay more), mind you he is getting more mad… Wouldn’t feel safe letting my sibling eat there. Plus the food was more than mediocre, the meat looked and feels pre-chewed, almost like when you’ve been chewing a tough piece of beef for too long and it’s now soggy in your mouth… Honestly speechless as I had a reasonable...

I'm new to Ottawa from Toronto. People all over say the nation's capital is the place for the best shawarma. So I'm going to try a bunch of these places and review the best and the worst. Sad to say... This was my first and will possibly go down as the worst. I'll sum it up with two key moments. When the counter chef assembled my sandwich he was wearing gloves and to wrap up the sandwich he got his fingers in there to do the trick. All good if this is a new set of gloves. But I don't remember him putting new ones on. To make matters worse... He takes my money, not removing the gloves, and handles the cash with same hands he made my pita. Unsanitary to say the least. The other moment is in the preparation... He asks "all dressed?" I say yes. But I never get any hummus, or hot sauce. Nor am I offered any. Big miss. All that being said... The chicken was bland, pasty, and the lack of flavour in the sandwich was apparent. Not a great first experience for the land of shawarma. I'ma hold my judgement for a few more places. My experience at Shawarma King restaurant

When I visited Shawarma King, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the service and the overall atmosphere.

First of all, the food was excellent. The flavors were authentic, the ingredients fresh and well seasoned. The shawarma was delicious, well decorated and accompanied by delicious sauces. The portions were generous and offered good value for money.

Then the service was impeccable. The staff was welcoming, smiling and very attentive to the needs of the customers. The order was prepared quickly and the staff made sure that everything was as I expected.

Finally, the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. The place was clean, well decorated and comfortable. The atmosphere was friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

In short, Shawarma King is an excellent place to enjoy a delicious shawarma in a warm atmosphere and quality service. I highly recommend this restaurant to all lovers of...
