Order from Sonny’s usually once a week. The last two weeks the coffee was missing from my order. When someone orders coffee from a restaurant it’s usually cuz the need coffee 🤷🏻♀️. This time I drove to the store after the delivery was delivered to my house without coffee. I brought my order with me so they could see the receipt. The gentleman working was apologetic and went to see if he could find out what was going on. As he was leaving I noticed two coffees sitting in a tray on a table and I asked if those were mine. He said he had to go check. Then, the blond woman at the bar came over, passed me the coffees and said I should check my paper. I told her I had and that I gave it to the young man. I was getting annoyed and I’m sure she could tell. She then said I meant and made a scrolling motion like I should check my phone. I told her I did but thanks. I work at a restaurant that has food delivery and I would never have treated my customers that way, especially when it was obvious one of their staff dropped the ball. This blond woman was indifferent to the fact I had to drive to her store to get the rest of my order. There was no offer of redoing the coffee that had been sitting there for 15-20 mins, she offered no apology and instead told me to check my receipt? I gave two stars because the other two staff seemed to care and the food is usually good...

I come to Sonny’s Bar & Grill every week for breakfast, and it truly feels like my place. There’s never a lineup, I’ve got my usual booth, and everyone knows me—it’s got that “Cheers” vibe, where everybody knows your name.
The food is simple, tasty, and satisfying, and the prices are very affordable, making it perfect for families or anyone looking for a great, hearty meal without breaking the bank. They even bake their own white and whole wheat bread—make sure you order it as a side for toast. It’s delicious!
What really makes Sonny’s special, though, is the staff—especially Lucie and Maureen. Their warmth, humour, and genuine friendliness make every visit a joy. They remember not only my order, but even my friends’ and family’s after just one visit. That kind of care and attention makes you feel truly valued.
Sonny’s has become my second home. It’s filled with friendly chats, laughter, and a real sense of community. Some mornings you might even catch a few local musicians enjoying brunch and spontaneously jamming together—it’s that kind of place.
If you’re looking for a welcoming, affordable, and heartwarming spot where you’ll always feel at home, Sonny’s Bar & Grill is it. Highly...
Read moreEat somewhere else. Seriously. Old run down bar food next to a ghetto charging $12 for a breakfast that DOESN'T EVEN COME WITH THE BACON??? Is this a joke? Just 2 pieces of bread(30 cents) 2 eggs(50 cents) and a few terrible hashbrowns(10 cents). 90 cents worth of food. Even at loblaws these total 90 cents for the average buyer. I can get the same meal WITH bacon for $9 elsewhere in a nicer location. This place is a huge rip off. Quite possibly the most overpriced breakfast I've found in ottawa and I eat EVERYWHERE. Almost every customers I did see looked like they are literally unable to drive to somewhere better, too old to drive. When I pay 20$-25$ for breakfast it's because I'm actually receiving something quality. I don't know how a run down bar next to a ghetto even thinks about charging like this. I'm almost positive BLT sandwich had one piece of bacon it but they broke it into pieces so it would be harder to tell Haha. I'm not even kidding, this place is just a toilet to flush...
