the wait wasn’t long for the food. the jollof rice was just okay. not bad, but i wouldn’t get it again. the main issue was the “suya”. in no world should someone ever call that suya. i ordered the chicken suya combo and got these small overcooked pieces of chicken. the outside of the chicken was HARDDD, the inside too was hard and dry. suya is supposed to be grilled, and this place even has grill in the name, but there was no smoky grill/barbecue taste at all. after eating that chicken, i find it hard to believe there was even a grill on site . it tasted more like it had been airfried for 70 minutes. maybe there was once suya spice on the chicken, but that got burnt too and tasted like nothing. the entire meal was very bland, not peppery or spicy at all. eating the chicken was like chewing sand. when restaurants outside of nigeria claim to serve suya, i always have low expectations but this place just disappointed me even further.

Clean dining environment and, a very tasty barbecue, especially since the beef was not old at all, the meat was tender and the seasoning was evenly wrapped around the meat. The chilli powder was an option and was spicy and authentic, and the overall feeling was good.

So welcoming, excellent customer service, delicious food. I love that you can play the classic Nigerian game while waiting for your food. The atmosphere is very relaxing. It is a must visit restaurant in Ottawa.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Suya Royale! From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every guest has a wonderful dining experience.

The food was simply outstanding! Every dish I tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for something light or a hearty meal, their menu has something for everyone. My personal favorite was the suya burger, which was perfectly made and bursting with deliciousness.

On top of the great food and service, the ambience is cozy and inviting, perfect for both casual lunch or a special dinner. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning soon. Kudos to the entire team for...

The owner is genuinely a nice person, and his shawarma is excellent. However, when it comes to hosting events at the restaurant, there’s definitely room for improvement. The Independence Day party, unfortunately, was quite disorganized. It seemed the team took on more than they could handle — the space was overcrowded, waitstaff appeared confused, and guests were left waiting hungry for long periods.

I truly believe he has great potential and good intentions, but better planning and coordination are needed to ensure guests have a positive experience. This is Canada, and standards are understandably higher; organization and service must match the...
