Vera's Burger Shack — Restaurant in Ottawa

My go-to place for a delicious hearty burger. Connected to The Butchery, Vera burger offers amazing burgers, sandwiches and dinner platters that will please anyone’s appetite. I’ve only gotten the burger myself (several times) but my friends have raved about their other items on the menu. A bit on the pricier side but a very worthy meal if you’re craving burgers.

The beef patties they use are the exact one sold at the butchery across the store. Very fresh and a very generous portion of meat. To order the burgers, you fill out your name and circle what you want with toppings and sauces. The patties are cooked fresh and the burger is assembled right in front of you. If you want a REALLY filling meal, opt for the double patty- you won’t be disappointed. Their side option are additional price and include fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and poutine. I have had them all and the winning sides for me are definitely the onions rings and poutine. The gravy is a nice rich dark brown gravy that is full of flavour. Well seasoned and not too salty. They give a great amount of cheese curds as well!

While waiting for the burgers to cook, I always like to browse the shelves and the butchery items. There’s many sauces, dips and pickled items they sell that aren’t usually sold at normal...

Worst "Customer Service" ever!!!!

Tall Sun-burnt fella with a black cap (definitely bald guy) was rude in giving me direction on where I was going as soon as I walked into the store, bossy! First time I've ever walked into the store found the tone of his voice to be rude and "Condescending", I think a 5yr old has better manners than this Bum!

He was also bossing the girls who worked behind the kitchen so I'm going to guess he's one of the supervisors/owner? Brutal!

I won't be spending a dime here ever again!

There was no option to have the burger medium-rare, and the bum didn't even ask me, nor was the sheet you have to fill out manually (instead of asking for it over the counter like 99.9% of the hamburger joints out there - no sense of efficiency - never mind the fact that everyone is in a rush) even though I was the only one in line.

Service was moderately fast.

Support local business where owners respect their community. Don't give...

Vera's Burgers : My ONLY question is why we don't see lines of peeps for miles because surly to God this is without any question thee freshest HIGH QUALITY Burger in Ottawa.

A very special to "Kim"... who was "manning" (joke for only Kim 😂❤️). She made my day brighter with her bright and whitty comebacks from my poor attempt at irascible sarcasm.... met my match.

Last but not least - I have not been to a Vera's Burger Shack other than this location but I suspect that the sheer quality here is directly proportional to The Butchery who over ALL these years has worked their Majic for thee best meat in the city.
