I would love to be able to give this restaurant a glowing review, as it used to be my favourite ... Every visit as of late has been lackluster in food and service (excluding the young man, I can't remember his name, who refers to everyone as his friends. He is an absolute delight and deserves a large tip everytime).
I can't recommend anything except the wings here because it's all crafted poorly. If you like a greasy vinaigrette bruschetta made with cheddar cheese, or an absolutely drowned cesaer salad with what is obviously aging grilled chicken then this is the place for you, otherwise, stick to the wings.
It is not unusual to not be greeted at the door and watch waitresses walk passed you to go outside, or wait to be seated in a mostly empty restaurant because the person at the bar is too busy to look up from their POS machine. We have left on two occassions because of this.
During one visit, while seated at the bar, we were privvy to a conversation between employee and management that included a continuous slew of vulgar language in the dining room.
Most interactions with staff are awkward and uncomfortable, no one asks how you're doing and just stares at you before asking if you're ready to order, to which they just stand there and write down everything you say and then disappear before asking if you want a drink or taking your menus. You also have to chase servers for refills and bills because no one comes back to your table after bringing your food.
The cost of dining here has increased significantly, and it is not reflected in the food or service. At roughly $100 for two to eat and drink here, I would much rather give that money to one of the many other restaurants...
Read moreIn brief: Totally disgusting!
Walked in with a friend and we were asked "can I help you?" with an attitude like we were inconveniencing the waitress. Surprised by the greeting I replied "yeah, we'd like to be patrons of this establishment" to which she asked "for two?" and I said "no, three actually" (another friend would be meeting us) and she replied (incomprehensibly) "See, you were wrong!" and proceeded to turn her back on us and lead us to a table.
Since this is the third time I've been here I knew the food was disgusting (and other reviews of food poisoning confirm this) so I just ordered beer, which was our plan. While my friend decided which beer he wanted to order our waitress stood over our table and made audible sounds of annoyance (heavy sighs and teeth sucking).
One thing I can say that was an improvement over my last visit was that my glass didn't have hardened pieces of food stuck to the rim. The only reason I go here is because it's the only place close to where I work where I can have a drink with coworkers. DO NOT eat here or bring a party of people, you will be (some combination of) treated rudely/ripped off/poisoned.
Wild Wings Hogs Back is in terminal decline and will be dead soon. Don't get caught here before...
Read moreTerrible, terrible service staff. I've got better serive at McDonald's. We entered the establishment around 10pm, the staff told us we had 30 mins to order and disappeared after shoving a table into the wall. The other one was on her phone at the front desk, responding to Uber eats couriers but not us when we were ready to order. I HAD to wave, repeatedly, eventually the disappeared one came back, opened with "it's rude to wave you know, I'm here" and took our orders impatiently, despite the fact that WE WERE THE ONES IGNORED. She then turned around to her co-worker and COMPLAINED about our table no more than ten feet away from myself. We didn't get anything to drink either, and when we did she came over with a pitcher and slammed it on the table with four glasses stacked together, turned around and left without a single smile. By the time our food arrived it was even worse, we had wings, burgers and salads, but no cutlery, I had to get up and ask another server for forks. Apparently the rude one was the nightshift manager, I honestly don't know how your team would function with that kind of staff as a leader. I would have given zero...
