Went there for a small coffee in the morning. The service was good ( Trina and a new young server.. Paid the 3.00 and left a tip. I convinced my out of town car show friend to return there for lunch. A pared down menu for the car show... ( I get that ). A small glass of fountain pop 4.00? A burger and fries 18.00 plus 2.00 for a cheese add on. The portion was small, the burger patty was, without exaggeration, a gross tasting/looking frozen patty. Our main servers service sucked. She plunked down the burger with no napkin, or cutlery. Never asked if the was anything else we needed. I dealt with the new young server from then on. Really nice and pleasant. My friend and another fellow who had joined us, laughed at the burger I was served, the pathetic service, and the pricing. They both opted to have a 6.00 Lions club cheeseburger with sauteed oinions, which they both agreed was great. The fellow who had joined us also commented on paying 14.00 for a glass of wine there previously. The food industry is a tough one anywhere, and particularly tough on a year round basis in Peachland, with our limited local population numbers. I wanted to support the new owner of Jac's on the Beach and his business. However, I will not return there again , as long as he has that rude server on staff. Her attitude and service...
Read moreThis is the first negative review I’ve ever written, and I wish it were under different circumstances. I live in Peachland and often enjoy dining out with my family. Unfortunately, my experience at Jack’s yesterday afternoon for Father’s Day lunch was deeply upsetting.
I ordered the chicken and Brie sandwich — something I’ve enjoyed in the past — but this time, just two bites in, I bit into what felt like a piece of glass, which chipped my tooth and caused immediate pain. I brought the issue to the attention of the server, who apologized and appeared genuinely unsure how this could have happened. However, after taking the plate to the kitchen, she returned saying it was “a hard piece of plastic.” Regardless of whether it was glass or plastic, a sharp foreign object was in my food, and the damage — both physical and emotional — had already been done.
The restaurant comped my meal, but I left with no clear explanation and a chipped tooth. I’m incredibly upset, disgusted, and disappointed. Dining out should never end in injury. I sincerely hope Jack’s investigates this thoroughly so that no other guest has to...
Read moreUnfortunately, while my chicken burger was delicious…the entire experience was tainted by my little daughter’s experience. Her cheeseburger was dropped. Totally understandable accident, they apologized profusely and refired it very quickly and we were okay with that. But they brought out the cheeseburger with sauces on it which we all specifically ordered without. As a kid with sensory issues, we knew our ordering was not incorrect, our server told us it was ordered with ketchup but that was our son’s order. She proceeded to reorder upon our polite request but it took almost 20 minutes for my daughter to get the burger she ordered. After waiting almost 30 minutes for our meals..then that other 2 minutes for the first refire. I’m sorry but a little kid waiting that long for food?? Last one took 2 minutes but because she didn’t think we were right we waited so long my daughter cried because she was hungry and then we were charged full amount for her burger. Then not even a dessert was offered to my kids either which was promised as a part of the “kids meal” on the menu. Very disappointed with how it was...
